In his latest newsletter Richard Alexander brings a progress report on the eagerly awaited Camel - plus important news on a change in how Wingnut Wings kits will be shipped in future.
Hi,
An update on what is happening at Wingnut Wings.
Sopwith Camel tooling progress
We were pleased to be able to exhibit a built up test shot of our upcoming Sopwith Camel model at Scale Models Expo on 23 & 24 April. Response from modellers was excellent and we are very much looking forward to being able to release this model (just as soon as possible after we are happy with it) later this year. If you are attending the Shizuoka Hobby Show this weekend then you should be able to inspect it yourself on the Beaver Corporation trade stand. For everyone else, we have attached a few photos for you.
End of free shipping in mid June 2016
Yes it's true, after 7 years of being able to provide you with free worldwide shipping this service will be coming to an end in mid June 2016.
We have been investigating numerous options to provide you with the most cost effective shipping available and we are pleased to announce that Wingnut Wings models will begin shipping from within North America, Europe and Hong Kong. Dave will continue to ship smaller items like decals, spare sprues etc and models from the warehouse in New Zealand.
Despite the very best of preparations, a change like this involving the integration of 3 new shipping locations, is bound to encounter unforeseen problems. We expect that there will be some down time from around 15 June 2016 when it will not be possible for you to place orders. Please do not be alarmed if/when this happens, hopefully it won't last longer than a few days but possibly it could be a week or even longer.
We will contact you again in early June when we have some more information.
Revised 30016 Albatros D.Va “The Bavarians” decals instructions
New research affecting pilot and colour scheme information meant that we felt we needed to provide an almost completely revised set of instructions for this popular set of decals, even though it has long sold out. The actual decals themselves are fine and did not need to be updated.
