Tamiya is to release in the next few days a silver plated edition of the 1/72 scale Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien [Tony}
”[new product] 1/72 scale "Kawasaki three-type fighter feiyan I type silver plated specification ( with camo decal )" will be released around 30 March. A real expression of metal texture of the surface of the airframe by the silver plated parts that hold it down. We also include Oban decals that can be reproduced easily by the mottled camouflage.”

This is pretty neat. I've built a couple of their "silver plated" kits before, and they go together and look surprisingly good, this one should be really easy given the green motteled decals which are included. I wish they'd do this with a few of their larger scale kits. It makes it a lot easier to add a few shades of alclad for an easy "bare metal" looking finish. VR, Russ
