Silver Wings have earned a thoroughly well-deserved reputation for their superb quality resin kits, and their next release could well turn out to be their most successful yet, because it's a subject that's been high on modellers' wish-lists for years - a 1:32 Gloster Sea Gladiator, of Faith, Hope and Charity fame!
Wojtek Kułakowski of Silver Wings has issued the following press release:

"I am pleased to inform you about our forthcoming release of the 1/32 Gloster Sea Gladiator.

It is planned to be released in the end of August 2010.

Box will include:

- even better quality of the resin parts
- 3 marking options:
Sea Gladiator N 5519 "R" - Gladiator Flight Hal Far, Malta, June 1940
Sea Gladiator Mk II N 5519"G6A" - 802 Squadron, HMS Glorious, 1939
Sea Gladiator N 5524, No 261 Squadron, Luqa, Malta, January 1941
- 2 different propellers
- dinghy pack
- canopy (3 parts) made of a clear resin
- film
- PE parts
- iron reinforced: wings, landing gear, struts.

After that (in a close future) I will consider releasing a MKI and MKII versions including British and Finnish marking options (Finnish will have skies)."

I think it's an understatement to say that this is going to be a kit to watch out for! We'll post more news of course as soon as it's available, so watch this space!

Hi again Nahh! - forget all this Black Widow talk! What I'd really love to see in future from Silver Wings is a 1:32 Hawker Hart or Demon! All the best Rowan

I agree- I'd like to see interwar aircraft that are unlikely to be made by mainstream manufacturers. A Tiger Moth would be good, though the Revell one can be used as a basis for a scratch-detailed build already. A series of 1/32 Schneider Cup types would be cool- from Sopwith Schnieder to Supermarine S.6, some nice Italian entries too. Although just outside your time range of 1914-1939, I'd love a 1/32 Napier Heston Type 5.

I too will not be disapointed with those choices I'm not sure how much I can say, the mastermodeller who's efforts I saw is really into the P-61. It was probably about 2-3 years ago and I know that he is very busy doing plenty of other work, so I'm not sure how much more he has done. I will ask him how it's coming along when I next speak to him, but please don't hold your breath. Wouldn't a 1/32 scale p-61 be awsome though

Too late Mal, I'm holding my breath now. The dull THUD you might hear is me falling off my chair in a minute or so. Thanks for the info, it will be worth the wait I'm sure. Cheers, D
