Afterburner Decals are to produce two 1/48 decal releases for one of the best looking aircraft ever in my humble opinion, the SR-71 Blackbird. Part I will have markings for 11 SR-71A's and Part II 14 aircraft including the SR-71A / B and the interceptor the YF-12. Afterburner are aiming to release these sets in time for the IPMS nationals on the 3rd August in Omagh by the Sea, Nebraska.
SR-71 Blackbird part I.
Options for 11 SR-71's.
This sheet has markings for SR-71's covering dates from 1985 up to 1997. The release includes a NASA aircraft, and several reconnaissance birds with mission markings and tail art. Full stencils and wing walkways are included.
Cat no: 48-078
SR-71A / B, YF-12 Blackbird part II.
Options for 14 SR-71's including:
2 x YF-12A's.
11 x SR-71A's.
1 x SR-71B.
This sheet has markings for SR-71's covering dates from 1968 up to 1982. YF-12A 60-6934 looks pretty spectacular in it's titanium and black finish.
Cat no: 48-079
These are must have releases if you have the enormous 1/48 Testors kit. I know it's big as I once built two. I think I will have to acquire a third kit [or fourth] and nip over to the planning department to apply for permission to extend the house.
