Nice work gentlemen!
I've made some progress to, I’ve spent a lot of time sanding so the Aires parts finally fit. After that I primed the parts and painted the cockpit in lightened H317 and painted the seats and IPs black. I moved on painting the cushions with Vallejo acrylics and added the Eduard belts. Result:

And after the seats were finished I built them their own little garage to protect them until they are to be installed .

See yaa later

Thanks man and yeah they do. It's actually Aires and Eduard, the prepainted belts are Eduard the resin is Aires as I think their cushions are more nicely textured.

See yaa!

Adam - great job, I love the early USAF F-4s in the grey and white scheme. And I see your pics are already in the gallery

Jakob - great job on the cockpit

Peter - at first I was like "wow, that's a lo-vis Phantom!" then I realised you hadn't put the decals on yet Gunna look great.

Thanks Jakob, it is the Fujimi kit, I bought it over 20 years ago. Still have two other kits of them, the RF-4 E and another Brit Phantom (special markings FG.1 25th anniversary).

Greetings all! Now that the move has happened and the dust has settled, it's high time I stopped procrastinating (big word for this time of day! ) and got on with the FGR.2. The Aires cockpit set is more or less finished. Just one or two paint touch ups needed, then sealing with matt varnish, before final assembly:

Yeah I had a blast! It was however a lot easier fitting it into the Hasegawa kit than their cockpit for the Academy one which was impossible leading to that phantom being banished to the shelf for eternity:D .

Cool - mine is a Revell reissue of a Hasegawa kit anyway, so it should be OK - here is a bang seat I just finished:

First of Lee nice work on the seat. I can also report some progress. Since last time i installed the Wheel wells followed by the cockpit and closed up the fuselage. Next step was adding the wings. I also painted and weathered the Rhino intakes and installed them in the Aircraft. After that a lot of puttying and some selective riveting followed. The next step is polishing and adding the windshield and then it's off to painting! Some pictures for your enjoyment:

Hey Jakob, as you are also doing a 1/48 Phantom with resin cockpit etc, how much weight are you putting in the nose? My instructions give no guidance at all.

As the cockpit and wheel well weighs quite a lot more than the equivalent plastic one I didn’t need to add any nose weight at all. I don’t know how much of that is the resin wheel well but I have quite the margin so I don’t think that you will need to add any weight at all that resin is quite heavy.

I'm not using a resin wheel well, so I might just put a few grams in the nose, just in case.

Well, I finally have some progress to share folks! Been quietly working away in the background, and the cockpit is now complete.

I also had a little "moment" last night. Some of you may (or may not) know that UK modelling legend Ted Taylor passed away earlier this year. I never knew him personally, and the only time I met him was buying some of his "Finishing Touch" nose weights at a show 10+ years ago. Last night I pulled that little tub out to add the nose weight to my Phantom radome. Given that Ted was well known for his love of the F-4, publishing many magazine articles of his award winning Phantoms, it was a doubly poignant moment.

Well, at last I finished my British Phantom and here are the first pictures. Will put some in the gallery shortly.
Thanks for a "Phantastic" campaign. I really did like this one and I'm even thinking about taking on my RF-4 E of the Luftwaffe now...
