Very nice Peter. 56 was one of my dad's old squadrons, so always nice to see a Firebird

Don't forget to put them pics in the gallery!

Greetings,
These are the finished build photos of my F-4S Phantom. I've loaded the photos into the Campaign Gallery.

The kit wasn't hard to complete, it was OOB. I found the fit to be mostly good. The effort went into the Ferris camouflage scheme. Color choices were from the back of the box. A lot of time went into researching the Ferris scheme and VF-301. Thank you for this campaign and the builds here are an inspiration for me.
Regards,
FirstSergeant

Well done, great-looking bird! That Ferris scheme is very interesting, have to take a closer look at it myself.
Congratulations!

Thank you. I know, not what you expect of a Phantom. I wouldn't want to be the sheet metal specialist. The fuel tanks were matched to the scheme. That was some exact masking and hard to maintain. The scheme starts dark to light as you go across the aircraft. The underside is opposite. That is the reason the top of the fuel tanks are different than the top color. After a while the maintenance of the paint job became too much work. Airplanes began to look worn with new and old paint together.

Time to crack on with the last month of the campaign, so it's time for me to get painting! I had a bit of fun getting the Aires cockpit to fit, but got there after much sanding. Got the fuselage and wings together, with a little filling and sanding. Just got a coat of primer on today:

Inspired by a recent visit to Hendon RAF museum, I had decided on a full weapons load. This isn't possible "out of the box", as for reasons best known to Hasegawa and subsequently Revell, there are no Sidewinders with the kit. One quick order to Eduard Brassin later, and I now have the full set!

In other Phantom related news, I have acquired two of Fujimi's excellent 1/72 kits, namely the FG.1 (Silver Jubilee) and the F.3 Tiger, for the next Phantom campaign that rolls down the road.

Best of luck everyone!

So guys, less than a month left, how are we all getting on?

I'm at the fatal fill/mask/primer stage, where 95% of my stalled builds, well, stall. It always takes me a forcible act of will to get past this stage...

Hi.
Originally I was going to mask the Tiger but went with the decals after running out of time due to travel plans.

It might be a size issue. Try resizing your pictures to 800X600 and see if the server likes them.

We're getting there people!

I've spent the last week or so up to my eyeballs in masking tape, so not much of interest to show of that. Today I unmasked the beast, and here is where I'm at right now:

On to the metal work tomorrow, plus masking and painting the canopies, and with any luck I should be decalling at the weekend.

Cheers everybody, and good luck!
