Some very interesting decal releases from LF Models for the Fiesler Storch in service with the USAF and RAF.

LF Models have released two sets of decals for the 1/48 Eduard I-6 Rata:

Fisher Model and Pattern have announced that their spectacular looking Red Baron RB-51 is now on sale and available from their website. Be quick though as numbers are limited. This is the information put out by Paul and Susy Fisher on their website.

Felipe C. Miranda from FCM Decals based in Brazil has sent me these stunning example of his latest work.

As previously announced on Aeroscale, Roy Sutherland has been busy preparing new P-40 decals, and they are now on sale on the BarracudaCals website.

New release from 4+ publications is this combined book and decal sheet for the Me 210/410. Designed in accordance with the "Zerstörer" (heavy fighter-bomber) concept just prior WWII, the Me 210 was, however, a failure in terms of flying characteristics. Following extensive modifications, its successor, the Me 410 Hornisse (Hornet), was produced in substantial numbers and many variants and saw operational service in Italy and North Africa, and over Germany and Central Europe. The improved Me 210 was also licence-built in Hungary.

Loon Models is a subsidiary to Roll Models.com. Loon Models manufactures resin 1:32 'Master Series' Correction / Conversion / Detail Sets have mostly been armour related subjects. This (LO32006) and its sister set LO32007 are resin parts applicable to Roden's 1:32 Siemens Schuckert D.III. Set LO32006 backdates the kit to the earliest production issues first release for front line operations and testing to JG II in 1918.

AZ models have released sprue shots and box covers of their forthcoming releases of the Hawker Hurricane MkIV. The MkIV saw the last major change to the Hurricane, which was the introduction of the universal Wing, a single design able to mount two 250 lb or 500 lb (110 or 230kg) bombs, two 40mm (1.57in) Vickers S guns, drop tanks or eight 60 pound RP-3 rockets. Two .303in Brownings were fitted to aid aiming of the heavier armament.

No 12 in the ‘From the Cockpit’ series considers the legendary Sea Fury, the Royal Navy’s fastest and most effective single-engine, piston-powered aircraft, and one that even today continues to enthral both pilots and spectators in its regular flying displays.

Sky-High have released one of my favourite helicopters, the Mil Mi-2 NATO named Hoplite. This small and attractive helicopter is lightly armoured, but could pack a punch as it could be armed with 57mm rockets and a 23mm cannon when used for close air support. First introduced in 1965, the Hoplite has been also used in it's time as a civil aircraft. It looks like there are markings for eight aircraft.

Modelimex have published details A-Model's re-released Polikarpov I-17 - the in-line engined successor to the famous I-16. First flown in 1934, the I-17 was eventually cancelled depite its initial promise.

AML have released a neat looking 1:72 kit of the Bf 109B in Kondor Legion colours.

MMD-Squadron have sent us details of their latest Encore Models release - an upgraded quarterscale Delta Dagger that appears to be based on the classic Monogram kit.

Modelimex have released details of Special Hobby's new Nakajima Ki-115 kamikaze aircraft.

As most of you will probably know that a new Hungarian company, KP Models, plans to re-issue many if not all of the kits made by Kopro Prostejov Models. Modelimex are to stock the new brand. KP Models, will use old plastic parts from Kopro Prostejov, but all models will have new boxes, new decals and instructions. These models should have been on sale during June, 2010, but the date has been set back to late August, 2010

In 1915, the Swedish Army asked for tenders for a new reconnaissance aircraft of biplane type. Dr Enoch Thulin offered his own design, type E, with 90 hp Thulin A engines. Four aircraft were ordered and used for neutrality watch at the Fortress of Boden in the north of Sweden. However, they were found unsatisfactory for this purpose and used for training duties.
Omega Models are shortly to release the 1/72 resin Thulin Type E in Swedish markings, of what was Sweden's first ever reconnaissance aircraft.

A-Model have released a short run injected plastic kit of this very large bi-plane. The AN-3 is basically a turboprop powered development of the An-2. Despite the aged look of this aircraft the An-3 first flight was in 1991. There are two sets of markings as well as a small sheet of photo etched parts.

Osprey's "Raid" series of books latest installment will be about the Dambusters raid.

F-RSIN Plastics plastics have released this superb looking injected plastic kit of the Bréguet Br.763 Deux-Ponts. The Breuget Deux-Ponts [ double decker] was a cargo and passengers aircraft that was operated between 1953 and 1972 . Its name comes from the fact that it can accommodate passengers on two decks a feature that would be utilised later in the Airbus A380. There are 4 separte releases in the following liveries:

Sword Models have released sprue shots and images of the resin parts making up their future release of the Re 2001 Falco II and Re 2001 CN.

AZ Models have announced a number of future releases of the Mig 17 including the Chinese derivative, the Shenyang F-5. There have been interesting users of the Shenyang F-5 including 4477th "Red Hats" Test and Evaluation Squadron of the United States Air Force. So hopefully if AZ don't come up with some interesting decals, some of the after market decal companies will.

New 1:144th scale release from Welsh models is the Douglas Super DC-3S Dakota in Capitol Airlines livery.

Kits-world have announced the release this September of a multi scale decal sheet of Kill Markings in 1:72, 1:48, 1:32 Scale. They cover Allied aircraft of the European and Pacific theatres in WWII. Symbols include downed aircraft as well as anti tank and shipping strike symbols. Aircraft included are Spitfire, Hurricane. Typhoon, Hellcat, Mustangs and Thunderbolts.

Revell have released, a 1/72nd F-4F Phantom II "Anniversary" special.

Afterburner Decals are releasing these new decal sheets for anyone looking for something different to decorate their F-14A or EA-6B Prowler. These decals will certainly brighten up that grey colour scheme.

Afterburner Decals keep coming up with fantastic schemes for anyone looking for something different. This time they turn their attention to the F/A 18's. Whether it's a camouflaged or a a brightly decorated CAG bird, I am sure there's something here that will tempt any F/A-18 fan.

Due to the recent death of one of the partners at Aeroclub a necsessary restructuring has taken place. While some stock is being burned off at e-bay one need kit looms on the horizon. The long awaited Aeroclub 1:48 Sopwith Pup (9901) appears to be almost ready to produce.

PT Decals have announced some intriguing news concerning the release of a 1/32 B-25 kit with French markings. It seemed a strange coincidence that a couple of months ago Windscale a Dutch company announced the future release of a 1/32 injected moulded Mitchell see here.

In this new master class, Brett Green describes the kits, accessories, decals and references that are now available and demonstrates a wide variety of paint types, thinners and application methods in both words and pictures. He also covers painting effects such as mottling, soft-edged camouflage demarcation, masking and weathering. This is the perfect book for the beginner or the seasoned modeller to bring his knowledge and techniques up to date.

A couple of decals sheets I missed the first time around have now been reprinted by Xtradecal. One set for the 1/72 Hawker Hunters and the other for 1/48 B-57 Canberra's.

Latest release from Iliad Designs are marking for a number of F-104 Starfighters involved in combat.

Revell have released images of the their new B-17G that will hopefully be out shortly.

Continuing my involuntary news focus on WWII bomber decals at the moment, Iliad Designs have released this interesting set of decals for a mix of camouflaged and natural metal finished aircraft. The Marauder has always been one of my favorite WWII subjects purely because of the really interesting range of finishes and it's great name for a combat aircraft. Not to much detail on the markings I am afraid.

The Aviation Workshop's new book is an On Target: Special publication covering the British V-Bombers.

These are for both B-17 F's and B-17G's with a good mix of camouflaged and natural metal finishes. These add to the number of 1/48 decals for the B 17 produced by this company and well worth a look if you are seeking some other markings other than the ones supplied by the kit manufacturers. Only trouble is, is making a choice.

HobbyBoss are set to release at least three versions of the Messerschmitt Me 262.

Welsh Models well known for their range of multi media civil and military multi engined aircraft have announced the release of their latest kit in 1/144. This time it is the C130 Hercules in RAF service. Included in the releases is the distinctive C130K - W2 of the RAF Meteorological Flight and the stretched C130K – C3.

Pavla Models have sent us pictures of their latest cockpit detail set - this time for Airfix's 1:72 BAC Strikemaster.

Italeri are launching a range of kits, which are aimed at younger, less experienced modellers and those who want to try something new.
The new line not only includes a model but a puzzle as well.
The new line have been given the name "Activity Set ".

Italeri are set to release a 1/48th scale F-16, with some with spectacular markings.

Eduard have released the August edition of their magazine-style Newsletter.

Well not really, but Aires well known for their excellent resin detailing sets, now have an offshoot company 'Wheelliant'. No they are not going to produce replica cars [Relaint], or that is what sprung to my mind when I first saw the announcement on the Aires website. They are going to produce very detailed wheel sets for aircraft in 1/32 and from what I have seen so far, I think they will sell very well. The lettering looks a little heavy on the side walls, but nothing that cannot be adjusted with a sanding stick.
