1⁄35Modeling a Lippisch DM-1
It's actually look'in like a DM-1. Lot of detail can be added if yer have the
Shiffer book on the P-13a/DM-1. Let that dust settle abit befer we proceed any
ferther. I know, I know, my writing might look a bit strange to some of ye, but
I lives in the Western U.S. of A., And we writes like we talks. Don't like my
English, huh? Well speak to my English teacher about that, Mr. Colt is his name,
heh heh. Anyway, back to business I guess.
The large rudder fin thing is a solid mass of resin, and its' supposed ta fit on
top of the whole thing, which it does. But stick'in it just anywhere is ask'in
for trouble. Be careful, the front edge of that darn thing fits right behind the
opening of the place were the rider, er pilot, sits. And it needs some careful
sanding to make sure the backrest is plumb straight. Now, I know what 1/48th
scale means, but that seat is big enough to sit my mother-in-law and then some!
Talk about 40 acres, gosh. Best look into a proper sized chair before this
article is done.
Look'in at your faces I guess you don't think I can get really continue to write
this story like this fer much longer, right? Wrong!
Check out these little wheels, nice and pretty they is, paint'em black, nuthin
fancy. And the wheel gear is metal, nicely done so as not to have this plane sit
on it's backside in a year or so. Looks like the smaller details have been
included, but I still say it ain't a complete kit in this here box. Not what
some modelers say is a Shake 'n Bake kit. Yer sweat and imagination is gonna be
a hefty slice of this cake.
