Modeling a Lippisch DM-1

I can see already by the cover'in over the pilot we's gonna need to make new transparencies, the one's in the box just won't do. Now, you'd think AMC would'a give us some nice clear plastic parts for the canopy and nose, right? Uh uuh, no way, no sir-ree! Had to make masters for this Vac-que-form machine again to finish the dang thing, how irritating. Luckily theys got no fancy curves or bumps and should easily be made by most of you green horns, that's beginners to you. I'd poke those things on after we color this contraption, same with the nose probe. Now, speak'in of color, natural wood is the most beautiful thing in the world. Fergit paint and varnish Mister, El' Natural is the modern style. A couple different shades of wood will look better than one whole single color, don't ye think? My old mule sure did kick up a storm when I painted her wagon, got the better of me she did, ouch. So keep them fancy grays and blues off this here thing, it was a real aircraft, I seen pictures of it too! Most of 'em showed this craft sitt'n on its' tail for lack of weight in the front part, looks just like this model when it's done. Had to use a piece of sprue ta prop it up for these here pictures. No way to put a nose weight in this thing, that solid resin tail fin surely messed that idea up. But finish I did. And I'm right proud of it, sitt'in right next to my P-13A powered delta wing thing.

Gotta give a lot of credit to AMC for make'in this kit possible, but as with any kit which is hand made, it needs some tweek'in. I gives this kit a 7 for fun, 4 for quality control, 10 fer the darn cool looks it gets from the fellas down at the hobby show! YeeeHaaa!
