"When I Flew with . . ." Pick the real fighter unit you would have flown with, choose an aircraft and add your own personalized markings Allied and / or Central powers. Create your own military history / career.
This proposed topic began in Early Aviation but has been slightly modified to include all Aeroscale Wing nuts, The point is to be creative and enjoy.

that would be cool!
I think rule #2 abot the plane being historcally marked might actually rule this possibility out though - having a P-59 ace over Europe stretches that a bit I guess.
doesn't it?

Strictly historic lends markings more to the possibility. If you have a pink Albatros D.III and the pilot has blonde braids, there is a case for that. Its a real aircraft based on stories that floated around RFC sqdn messes for a period in 1917. The most important thing is to have fun. What could have been is a good call.

I enlisted.
Fearless leader promised us a good campaign. It looks like it will certainly be colorful too.
What are you planning for a ribbon?

Greetings all;
The following is provided for inspiration. Here is one of several I have done in hypothetical markings. Betcha thought it was going to be another Fokker D.VII....Surprise! Consider this the Albatros D.V (not Va) machine of my alter ego from the Royal Fokker thread, Oblt. Stefan Löwenson when he served in Jasta 78b in about autumn 1917.

Ok, a question then; would a , for example, Turkish Fokker D.VII, which was delivered but haven't been used as far as I know, with my alter ego's markings at the War of İndependance count? They were not used by the Turkish forces. That is my point.

The Rules and Regs
1. Any Fighter unit - Check
2. The machine is marked historically - Check
a. National markings. - Check
b. unit markings. - Check
c. stencils and serials must be of the correct type and location. - Check
3. Your personal markings ( a must.)
4. A narrative saying when and where. Create a historical / military career. - Check
a. When you entered the Air service. - Check
b. Dates you attained rank - Check
c. unit(s) you were assigned to. - Check (not the machine)
d. unit the colour scheme is associated with. - Check
e. all personal awards must be explained. i.e. if you earned it, why did you get the Victoria Cross? - Check
Nothing here limits your efforts as far as I can see. Now if you go using an F14 TomCat During WWII I am afraid we will have to ask you to check into the Aeroscale infirmary and see Dr. Hertz Van Rental our resident Clinical Pysch.

Albatros DII, Hptm Ritter (Dipl Ing) Karl Otto Titzlinger, Jasta 38DD 1917.
Hptm Titzlingers DII displays the early style of Jasta marking of pink nose and wheel discs with red spinner. Personal markings depict the burning at the stake of St Donnersgaad the Bewildered, the patron saint of Kebab Shops and of Titzlingers home city of Dzerkov. The interpretation of colours from black and white photographs is not an exact science and St Donnersgaad's habit ,shown here as black, may have been red. Titzlinger carried this image on most of the aircraft he flew through two and a half years of war. It was this distinctive marking which gave rise to the expression "Beware of the Nun in the Sun" amongst allied airmen.

A week to go, and only five enlistees. How can we win a war with only five enlistees? I call dibbs on being the General.
I was going to do a D.VII. Then I decided to do an Albie D.V (not a D.Va), Now I am leaning towards doing a P-51, and naming it "Joltin' Josie", for my wife and financial supporter. I will be done with my current build in a few days, and I am anxious to get this one going. After all, I did call dibbs on being the General.

You have to scroll down to the campaigns awaiting approval.

I have never been able to see the campaigns awaiting approval. Previously I have only been able to get to these campaigns through a direct link - this is how I signed up for the Phantom campaign among others. I remember at that time that one of the administrators wrote that not everybody can see these campaigns.
I believe I have signed up, but I am not sure. Anyway, I am on for this campaign

hello all,
as Carl said 4 days to start and only 5 enlisted, including me.it only took me 4 kits to build 1 Revell Wright Brothers Flyer, and that at skill level 2.
i would think that all of you would like to see how many kits it will take me to build a Roland C.II.i have heard that the betting at Los Vegas it is going to take me 12 kits to build 1 plane, and it will have the wings upside down and backwards.LOL
so lets get signed up.
cheers,
Bruce

I have not yet decided what plane to build - not even what period! Right now I am thinking a F-86 in the Korean war, but I am not really sure. I could also go for WWI Fokker.
Oh! all the possibilities. One thing is for sure - I will go all the way and really try to Pimp up this bird

What about a Bolshevik? It isn't Central/Axis or Allied, but I've got some stars and strutter that are just dying to go together.
