I have now applied the basic camouflage. I did the whole thing in a couple of evenings. First the black undersides the first evening, then masking the next evening, then the SEA camouflage painted free hand the third evening.
I will now experiment with some thinned Tamiya smoke as some post shading. I hope it works out good.
After that a coat of varnish, decals, underwing stores....

Jesper,
Your build is coming along really nice..........I love that 3 toned camo scheme.
I have made a start on my Dragonfly. Not especially happy about the results so far, but we shall keep plugging away.
IP : The IP I am not happy about how it turned out.
The cockpit on the whole came out not too bad, I didn't have a set of PE belts for the seats, so I just painted the harnesses on the raised detail on the parts.
And the side walls of the pit
Considering the age of this kit(1992), the fit so far is not bad at all.

Thanks for the comments, Ted. The camouflage is actually one of the reasons I choose this aircraft. Lots of surface to apply that SEA camo.
Ted, good progress on the cockpit. Considering it is OOB on an old kit it is a very good result.
I have now tried to do some post shading using thinned Tamiya smoke. It turned out very good in my own opinion. Under a layer of varnish I am sure it will look better and "blend in" better with the camo.
More to follow....

@ Jesper: Great looking camoflage on your B-26.
@ Ted: What do you think about having a flak curtain, but no ejection seats in the A-37?

Thanks for the comments Jesper,
By the way your post-shading looks great.....I am going to have to try that myself.
It should look great with a full weapons load. I am looking forward to seeing it completed.
Robert,
I tried finding a ref photo of the dragonfly with the curtain in place, but no luck. I wouldn't even know where to start.

A small update on the Dragonfly.
I have the cockpit and nose gear bay almost complete.
While trying to fit the bay doors past the gear, I broke the front gear leg in half, it is such a tight fit in there, I ended up having to trim the sides of the strut to get it fit. Hopefully my repair to the strut comes out alright.

Now my A-26K Invader is finished. It was an enjoyable build. It hauls an impressive load and has a nice camouflage.
I am pretty satisfied with it although the kit seems a little old in some respects regarding details etc.

Gents,
It has been extremely quiet on this thread for several weeks, I guess everyone is in a building frenzy ! My entry will be an A-Model 1/144th scale C-123K Provider. This was one of their earliest kits, hence it really needs a lot of work.
I'm hoping to have it completed in time, if not, oh well. So how are everyone else's projects doing ?
Take it easy..................................Bruce

Nice piece of work Christer.
We still got that beast of a radio in the swedish home guard, and I cursed it with all my heart in the artillery in the 80-s, so this really smells gunpowder, weapons grease and damp tents for me. Sweet!
Ludvig Kalle, slut - klart slut!

Well, after much debate, I settled on what to build. Nothing says Vietnam like an M113A1 so that's what I chose. All my 1/35 scale kits have prior plans so I went small with a 1/72 offering from Italeri. I didn't want to do an all green one either so I mixed things up a bit and went with an ARVN one. While the gun shields aren't right for an ARVN vehicle, I like the way it came out, and other than losing one of my M-60's...arrgh. I can't complain. The tracks were a little fiddly, but were finally nailed down. I painted the vehicle overall OD, then masked with silly putty and sprayed the yellow. I didn't come out as I wanted, so I went back over it with a brush and hardened the demarcation lines. Gloss coated and a mixed bag of decals from the spares box were added. Another gloss coat sealed them followed by some washes, and a few chips here and there using an art pencil and oil paints. Finally sealed everything with a good shot of flat coat. If I somehow find my lost M-60 I'll add it to the other side. For now though, it's been pulled for a cleaning. Thanks, "Q"

Hi
I've managed to get my Chaffee built & base coated.
Is it possible to have an extenstion on the end date as there's no way I'll be finished with the painting by the end of this week.
The diorama side will have to wait as well just dont have enough time. .
