Might I suggest La Marseillaise as a campaign name?

How about allowing baguettes? Just kidding.
Like the name. I also like the new Roden SPAD VII.

the start date for this is still a little sticky.
while Bastille Day makes sense to use, there are a couple campaigns starting in January already (if we include the thunderbolt one that was moved over to the new P-47 Heaven site.
what about making Bastille Day the mid-point of a 6 month campaign, which means April 14 to October 14, if it is to be a 6 month campaign.
would that be reasonable timing?

Ok, so the campaign is starting to shape up then. It should look about like this:
La Marseillaise
This campaign celebrates the French contribution to aviation engineering and is open to all French designed and/or built aircraft from any era. This includes consortium designs like the SEPECAT Jaguar, the Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde, or Airbus airliners, but not aircraft designed entirely in other countries in French service (e.g. a Hawk 75 or RF-84 is not allowed). The campaign will run from Victory in Europe Day (May 7 or 8, which is it?) to Armistice Day (November 11) of the year 2009.
Rules
1. Only aircraft of French origin are allowed, including multinational consortiums.
2. Aircraft may have markings from any nation that flew the type modeled
3. Scales from 1/144 to 1/24 allowed.
4. 3 pictures of the model must be uploaded to the campaign gallery before the finish date.
does that sound good? Am i forgetting anything?

Sounds nice, but one correction:
Rather say any scale than 1:24 - 1:144, if someone wants to scratchbuild 1:4 D.520 its ok for me (LOL).

fair point - i was just going with the conventional scales. probably best not to go under 1/144 though, unless someone knows of an Airbus airliner kit in 1/200 or something.
But yeah, no need to cap the large end i guess.

So, now that we are official, I think I'll post my idea of what to build for this campaign. I have had the following in my stash for years, and I think it is time to dust it off and see about building it:

I am in!
Although it looks like my P-39 in French markings is no longer suitable for this campaign, right?
Anyway, I always wanted to make a Miragte in Tiger stripes.

Sacrebleu! Does this mean that it is finally time for us to dust off our old "Mach 2" kits from the bottom of our closets?!
Since I build some Israeli aircraft, I find it unfortunate that the range of french made post WWII jets in 1/72 appears to be rather limited. I'm still hoping for some good kits of the early jets such as the Mystère, the Super-Mystère, the Vautour, the Ouragan, the Magister... What ever happened to the long awaited releases by Azur in this category?
I must say, however, that these look rather interesting...
Does anyone here have any experience of these kits?
But I should probably try to reduce my stash instead. In there, I find a Mach 2 Super-Frelon, a Mach 2 and an Extratech Aluette II... Who knows? I might just go "rotary" for this campaign!

Ok, now I've signed up too, but I have no idea what to do if I can't find a Nieuport-Delage 29 as this J2 fighter from the Swedish air force.
Maybe it's time conmemorate Louis Bleriots flight over the channel. That would be a centennial jubilée, wouldn't it?

I was the 7th one to click in. I will probably do a WWI SPAD or Nieuport in 1/48th or 1/32nd.

I'm in, no ideas what I'll do but I'll find something.
Does that make us official?
