Nice to have you onboard my friend

Some more pictures.
Time for the primer again

A lot of cutting there is :-)

Some more things finished and able to be put away for now.

The only bigger problem i have meet with this kit is the enginecowling beeing to thick so the engine don´t fit inside. My solution was to cut down the engine , very sad but in place it´s not posible to see anyway.

That´s the progress so far.

Rogga please forgive the following corrections. I was down at the threads for Brad Cancian and Rowan Baylies (good fellows that they are.) It seems the Part of Poland for the 1/32 Fokker F.I and the Eduard 1/48 instructions say that a "Bosch" starting magneto should down low near on the floor boards.

The "Bosch" starting magneto they include (that they tell you to put near the pilot's foot) is bogus. It was designed for inline motors.

The starting magneto for a rotary engine ( a round bare metal disk shape on a metal flange) should be put at the pilot's left shoulder. It is molded there in the DML & Eduard Fokker Dr.I kits. (Yes Eduard gives you the PE "Bosch" version and tells you to add it near the floor boards too.)

Here is the fun part. In my Fok. D.VI kit here, using the Part of Poland PE. . . step "AE" not only do they tell you to put the wrong type of starting magneto in the wrong place, BUT. . . .wait for it. They tell you to install it with the crank handle facing away from the pilot. Yes, the poor scale pilot will have to reach down by his foot, reach over the top of the magneto and find the crank on the other side and remember to turn it in the correct direction. If he gets stuck down there between the guns and the control column they will have to hacksaw him out.

IPMS judges will have a field day with this.

Just for reference the Spandau Maxims were given a baked on enamel coating of black.

There is a sink mark in the right side of the breeches.

Thank you Stephen

You are forgiven , anouther day past and some more things i have learned , that´s good.
Do you mean this picture :

The same thing is in my instructions to and this one made me realy comfused , not having so much reference material to use ( my old computer with all goodies in it broke down a while ago ) i was glad when i saw a picture of the same cockpit with the switch placed at the same location as mine.
I think i will leave the switch and the mashineguns the way they are now , i´m a bit lazy modeller just hating to change things i se as finished
But for all future German projects i will use black on the guns.

Once again , thank you for good and valuable critics.

Regards
Rogga

Hello

Ok , some more pictures , i haven´t done so much since last , but here is the progress so far:
The engine in place

And here with the cowling in place , luckely it hide the destruction i was forsed to do to the engine

Time to glue the first wing in place

And there it is and the second one waitng to be atatched

The little bird is growing

I know there might be problems when it´s time to paint the wings and that it´s much easier to paint the wings before gluing them to the fuselage but with this one i wasn´t satisfied with the joinings betwen the wings and the strutts , i used some filler there and i want to have all those work done before painting

Finaly some pain added to the fin/rudder

Well , there is where it is today.

Yes the third wing is not so far away to get in place , just some primer and preshading on the fuselage first.

Yes those preshadings look promising , the rudder looks realy great , unfortunatly the picture of it isn´t the best.
If the model isn´t completly coverd in maskingtape i will bring it to our next meeting but finished no , no , no , not in two weeks , just to much work still to be done on it
