Keith , a Lady never tells her shoe size !

Oh great. Now I have another quirk to remember about women. Will it never end?

Great builds, all.

Mark and Terri- Really great builds, and the rigging techniques were awesome. Not sure I'll ever have the patience to try the loop and q-tip method, but it looks very realistic.

I said it before, beautiful builds, and that's a nice finishing touch Stephen.

Hats off to you pair.

Dear Terri , dear Mark,
You both did a stunning work, the outcome two amazing models of a lovely aircraft. For me this dual build was very interesting to see the differnet ways to find a solution. Also I do like the fact that different modelers have different styles of modelling and you both thankfully have.
Thank you so much for sharing with us your adorable work.
Regards Peter

This is true. You see we know that Haupt. Berthold flew a D.III and later a D.IIIa. Both with the winged sword insignia. The red/ blue line should be further forward if memory serves.

i'm building Eduard's D.III and wish to do this scheme. how much further forward should the red/blue line be? also was the compass on the floor of the cockpit a later addition in the D.IIIa or is it missing from Eduard's old kit?

Edit: i've seen Roden's kit has a similar style with a cresent moon and the line is a fair bit forward, this is where it should be?

Berthold's was at the rear cabane strut on the D.III & D.IIIa aircraft he flew. The compass should be on the pilot's right near the floor. Check my Roden 1:32 Pfalz D.III build for details.
