Really cool build. I especially like the fuselage and the engine area (cowling, oil leaks). My congratulations.
Isn't the rigging to loose between fuselage and the wing? It's visible at the belly-showing photo...

Thanks Michal!! and yes it is (but it is the control cable no rigging!!) .
When I glued it holding it at the fuselage (upside down) the wing pulled the struts away from the fuselage and when i put it back on the wheels it pushes them down towards it ... thus I got this mess. It is only visible from a few angles, so i do not care too much ... Each and every of my models has such mistakes but when they all stand in the cabinet or at an exhibition table very few people care and as I do not like model competitions at all, I will never have a problem with that
all the best

Control cable...I got it, didn't now that till now.
I don't want to finger you out any error, just asking but I see your problem now. That's why I like the most the techiqe with pulling the thread though the hole in the plastic - you can adjust the length and easiely remove&repaint any marks. But I'm affraid it woudn't be so easy to do with this painting scheme of the wing... Anyway: very good job!

See the beginning of this thread and Stephens thread on the Weekend Edition ... this is probably pure fiction.
cheers

Thank you Terri! .. I guess ... not sure if that was a compliment or a hidden critque ... just kidding.
I think i will do one or two Dr.I soon so I might be back then also ordered a Fokker Dr. I Dual combo and a Albatross D.V Dual combo .. though I am not sure I want to tackle rigging again (the Avia is still on my workbench ... as a warning)
all the best
Steffen
P.S. next will be a Jet .. maybe the Academy F-22 before the Hasegawa kit blows my plan ...

Actually the yellow in the Marine Feld Jastas (I - IV) seemed to vary from chrome yellow to a lemon yellow on the real aircraft. This machine would also have two black stripes on each side of the center line. These would only be on the elevators. This signifies MFJ II.

Damn, another detail I missed, but I guess I still can add it. Do you have an illustration or photo (or a hint to a source) I just had a look in The D.VII aces ospreys and there are only MFJ I and III and the stripes vary in thickness ....
Thank you!!

Thanks to Stephen this bird was not quite finished yet ... I added the two stripes indicating MFJ II and replaced the pix on the server. As we are on a new page of the thread meanwhile I repeat them here:
