With this message Roden announces a new release # 414 Liberty D.H.4 1918 (Dayton-Wright-built) in 1:48 scale.

The Liberty DH 4 was a licensed version of the famous British two-seat general purpose de Havilland DH.4, which was built in the U.S. after its entry into WWI. An American engine, the Liberty, was fitted in the aircraft, and was much more efficient and reliable than most British power installations. The Liberty DH 4 was widely used over the Western Front as a scout and bomber, but numerous problems with the fuel system earned the planes notoriety as "flaming coffins". Nevertheless, the Liberty DH 4 continued in service until the very end of the war, and afterwards these machines were returned to the U.S., where they were used by the Army for several post-war years. Improvements of the fuel system and elimination of other defects allowed the type to carry on until the mid 1930's in commercial use. More than 5,000 Liberty DH 4 types were built in all.

Landed on my doorstep today!

"Greetings from snowy Kiev!

With this message we announce you a new model kit.

# 059 Nieuport 24 bis in 1:72 scale
Nieuport 24bis – French fighter of the WWI period, developed by Gustave Delage from its predecessor Nieuport 24. Planes of this type had the tail assembly of an earlier configuration, previous to the one which was employed by the Nieuport 24. The type appeared in the middle of 1917, when most of the Nieuports were being replaced by the modern SPAD fighter which is why it had only limited combat use. Apart from France, the Nieuport 24bis was flown by the U.S., Britain, and in Soviet Russia and in Poland. The famous French ace Charles Nungesser flew a Nieuport 24bis in combat. . ."

Most excellent!!! First, hopefully they will have Nungesser's markings in the kit, so I can finally finish the Choroszy Nie.17bis I've had in progress for eons. Second, there's an injected Nie.24bis for all those RCW decals in the stash.

Woo hoo!!
