Looks like Revell is planning on re-releasing some Eduard molds. Evidently they have been contemplating this for about 2 years.

See here.

Eduard's news letter gives us an update on the next Albatros run.

". . .It is the Albatros D.III OEFAG series 253, with the series 153 to come later in August. This kit shares the engine frame with the Fokker D.VII (MÁG). You might expect that the new OEFAG is just another Eduard Albatros, but it is much more. This is a completely new design, with no commonality with the old Albatros. Austro-Hungarian aircraft were very colorful, and we will well employ this fact in our kits, not only for these two Profipacks, but for later Limited Edition releases as well. . . "

Eduard also says;
". . .Early spring will be a happy time for WW I fans. First, we will be back with our Fokker D.VII in the form of two releases, and we will not miss a step with WW I aircraft with the release of the Albatros OEFAG series 253 immediately after. With respect to the Fokker, the first one is being ready for February, and is the re-edition of the Fokker D.VII (OAW). The kit has a new box with old contents, keeping the structure of the kit in tact including the marking schemes. I understand that this could be deemed uninspired, but the next version will be different; bank on it! It is the Austro-Hungarian Fokker D.VII (MÁG). We converted our original design a lot, with a modified nose and cockpit area and, of course, with new engine and weapons. The MÁG will be released in LIMITED EDITION only, with exceptionally detailed marking and painting instructions, which will allow the Fokker D.VII MÁG to be built in Hungarian, Czechoslovakian and Rumanian colors. The MÁG is expected in May, and with another WW I newcomer that will follow immediately in June. . . "

The striped tail unit is not accurate according to top sources.

". . .The other kit releases are the Albatros D.III in 1/48th scale in a ProfiPACK boxing, and the Weekend Pfalz D.III in the same scale. . ."

Thanks for the info Stephen.

Have you any word on what might be happening on the 1:32 front (apart from WNW) as far as WW1 aircraft. Roden have been very quiet about this years plans as are the other companies.

Thanks

Des.

I do have some word but I can't discuss these items until the release is announced. Model and aftermarket item manufacturers play their cards very close to the breast. If I give away a confidence I won't be able to get much in the future.

Thanks Stephen.

Any news is better then no news, at least we know something will happen this year.

I can fully understand why the companies are very reluctant to spread info about up comming kits, would sort of put a damper on the fan fare release.

The Oeffag Albbie will be added to the collection . The only other kit which comes to mind is the Bluemax kit of this aircraft . But I wounder if new aircraft will be coming out and not the same re-release over and over and over again .....

Glencoe made a stab at this too. If memory serves me correctly it was one of their first WWI releases prior to re-releasing the Aurora WWI molds that Monogram didn't get. It is crude, but; I understand it builds into a decent model. I have one, but now with the impending release by Eduard, I may just use the decals.

Well here is a bit of fun from the 2009 thread. I know Misterkit USA is ordering these and our man Michal Mecenas says, "I just wanted to say that Karaya's 1:48 Halberstadts Cl.IV are already available on the market. Price cs 35USD, see the Jadar or Martola on-line shops."

". . .Hi,

I would like to inform that today we are sending the first packages of Halberstadt Cl.IV models to our retailers. Please look for the models there or ask us directly. Now we have a little bit more time to prepare next releases ... soon I will publish the pics of Martinsyde Elephant master which is almost ready. The kit will be released in two versions: regular and special one equiped with three Lewis gun. Then you can expect Salmson 2A2.

Happy modelling !

Placed my order with Mike ( MG Talyor ) MisterKit USA a while back . So this is very good news hearing they are on their way in shipping .

I highly reconmmend that you get this kit . It is a must have in anyones collection . You can check out the build up of the kit with the PE parts in place over on the AeroDrome . Some one with better computer skills will be able to post a link to it .

Which one will you be doing your first review on Stephen ?

I can clearly see that I will go broke this year! Between Wingnut Wings, Roden, Eduard, Special Hobby, Microsculpt, Mirage and now Karaya, my poor wallet hasn't a chance.

When you look at the page www.modelarstworedukcyjne.pl and the menu on the left side you will be able to see that probably Wojtek Fajga is making a project of PE for Halberstadt IV (article marked as "comming soon").

And I will spend yet another year cursing Roden for not releasing their 1/48 DH-9.... I am not going to scratch build or convert one, not after last time... (think BE-12b....)

Don't forget about the WNW offerings that should be out in the next two weeks, or so.

Did somebody say Albatros?

Oh, that was me.
