Hi Mark. Top job so far, it's looking very nice, I like the wood grain, the mixture of yellow and orange worked well. Turnbuckles are great and not that hard to do, adds a whole new dimension to bi-plane modelling. Looking forward to more progress photos.
I also like the Roden kits, I have built all of their 1:32 scale WW1 aircraft, I hope they have some more in the pipe line for this year.

Hi Mark
Great to se another installment on this project. This one is really coming together nicely. I do like the effct on the fuselage after the clear/yellow coats, its certainly blends into a very pleasing wood effect
I too will be using "proper" turnbuckles for the first time on my Albatros project(s), looks like you are on to a great rigging experience here.
Bets Regards
Mikael

Thanks Des, Mikael and Carl:
I will be working on it this evening, I hope to have it 'shelf ready' this week and for the June installment of the Twin Cities Aero Historians meeting.
I really like your modeling site Des. Lots of good info and techniques. Thanks for sharing that with us here.
Mikael: I was really surprised how painless it is to do the 'proper' turnbuckle. I am finding each build is like a lesson, and each one seems to be better than the last. I am looking forward to rigging this one this way.
Best
Mark

Thanks Luis and Rick:
I have had a busy week and weekend, but hope to finish it up this week. Not much left. It is a nice build, I enjoyed it so far, and am looking forward to finishing it up. Look for more pictures and updates this week.
Take care

Hi Dwayne:
I am taking baby steps on it now due to nice weather, and seems I can't just sit down and work on it. I hope to have it done this week and will post pictures. I will do the Boelcke Figure, but will hold off on that till later. I am not the greatest figure painter, but he will look good next to the airplane. I may have one of the guys in the club paint it for me.
Thanks for the encouragement and motivation.

Greetings everyone:
I made some progress on the DII today. A somewhat rainy evening is conducive to modeling.
I got all the rigging attached using invisible thread, turbuckles made from brass wire and rod. I just have the top wing on for now, more modeling to ensue, but thought I would post these photo's, it is looking pretty good.
I have yet to attach the cabane struts, radiator piping and attaching the rigging. I have to make about 18 more turnbuckles out of brass rod. So far so good.
Enjoy
Mark
Carl, hope all is well and you are on the mend.

Hi Mark
Good to see you back on this one – And looking really good too! I'm at the same stage with the rigging at the moment.
Best of luck with the finishing – looking forward to seeing the result.

Thanks All for the compliments and encouragement. I got half of the rigging done after posting those photo's. Due to the cumbersome manner of posting photot's at home, I have two computers that I have to use, I will post finished ones. One thing I noticed is that I need to get an optivisor if I am going to thread invisible thread through small pieces of brass tubinng.
Take care

Okay, here it is; what do you think? The landing gear is real spindly on this a/c. It is on the DIII as well. I used invisible thread, brass tube and turnbuckles for the rigging. Optivisor will be ordered if I am going to do it this way again. It was an enjoyable build, a little guess work as the directions weren't real clear, Encore could improve on that, but overall I liked it and the results. Thanks to the many on this forum for the tips and encouragement.
I will probably be laying off modelng for a bit during the summer, but will be watching and commenting on the forum.
Take care all

Hi Carl:
Glad to see you are able to participate in the forum. Get well soon.
Now I want to do a D-I in Richtoffen markings. These Albatri tend to grow on a person.
