Mark,
I really like the subtle approach to weathering you've achieved......nice work.
Once you have completed this one (I know you are scrambling to meet the KoTS Deadline) I'd like to pick your brain on the topic of Optivisors. Send me a PM once you are free and I'll send you a list of questions.

Cheers,
Lance

With family commtiments etc., I am not going to be able finish for the KOTS build, I will continue to post pics, (if allowed) I hope to be back at it after the New Years weekend and finish this up. Santa brought me a Roden 1/32nd Nieuport 24, Pfalz DXII and the Late Rumpler.

Thanks for watching and Happy new year.

Don't see it as a fail, just take the time to finish her without having to rush, I'm looking forwards to seeing her come together, group build or not.

and enjoy your new year too.

Thanks Terri, Keith, and Stephen. It has been an interesting year, little time spent at the modeling bench. I am looking forward to a more productive year and sharing and learning skills. This is a great forum and the people are the best. Many I feel as if I know, Terri's Mtn. Biking, Keiths stump, Carls cat and Albatri, Greg's love of scratchbuilding, Stephen's tips, and on the list goes.
Best wishes to you all for a great new year.

Okay, still plodding along. I have the top wing on just to set up the cabane struts, the turnbuckle eyebolts are fixed in the lower wing and rigged.

Here it is in the jig I made out of styrofoam packing:

The stbd rear qtr

And the landing gear assy.

It is finally starting to come together, and hope to have pics of the finished product by the weekend.
I know the build is over but I am pressing on and showing my work anyway.

Best

Okay folks here it is, my finished WNW Albatros DV in Wilhelm Lehmans markings. Decals by Pheon Models and WNW kit decals, I used Tamiya paints as called by the WNW instructions, I used fine EZ line and Bob's Buckles turnbuckles, save for when I ran out I made my own, and I used the traditional turnbuckle and monofilament line for the landing gear.

I did preshade the underside and I like the effect.

I used fine copper wire for the hose clamps, I think they turned out alright.

I was going to use the Wolf Propeller, but I got ahead of the instructions and glued in the rear prop boss vice gluing it on the disc so I opted for the Niendorf as I had one painted up.

And finally a pair of Albatri

I look forward to the next GB.

Thanks for stopping by and the encouragement.

Best

Mark,
Simply a beautiful build. Your prop is outstanding and the overall "clean" presentation catches the eye for sure. Got to love the hose clamps as well...................Nice work! Last, only a week over the deadline for the KoTS GB, impressive given all you've been dealing with.
Thanks for sharing this, I've enjoyed watching it come together, and methinks my very next build will be the DV or Va as a result.

Cheers,
Lance

Mark,

Gotta echo what Lance has said. Nice work mate. So good to see you finish this despite missing the deadline. There'll be other group builds soon to tackle.

Keith.

Mark,
I'm assuming it's the WNW Pup? Having recently completed one I know you'll enjoy it immensely; what an absolutely wonderful kit of a beautiful subject and so many schemes to choose from. I highly recommend the Pheon Decals if you havn't considered them already. Enjoy and I'm much looking forward to following you through this one.

Cheers,
Lance

Hi Lance: I plan on posting some pics of it once I make more progress. I have the PHEON sheet of trainers and pets and am going to do it in the Union Jack scheme. I saw one on a website at a model contest or show in the UK and it was absolutely stunning to see the completed kit in that scheme. So, I am doing that one. Stand by for photos as they appear!
