Hi
The whole brisfish is now prepared with maskingtapes for the preshadings, This take a number of hours to get done and it´s most boring.

An mix of black and leather brown is used to shade all stripes of tape.

After painting all parts it´s time to get the stripes off, I don´t want any build ups so I start stripping when the airbrush is cleaned up.Carefully each stripe is removed, do the paint not yet have had its time to dry.

All tape is removed and now the brisfish will have time to dry, before checking for flaws in the preshadings, if so repair will be needed.

The stripes of masking tape

I agree and sympathise Larsa, it is hard work, slow, tedious, yes but what a lovely result.

Larsa,
Love that pile of removed tape! Probably a contributing factor to why I don't pre-shade

P.S. Looks Great!

Beautiful pre-shading my friend, worth the extra effort of the masking, this will be a very good looking machine once its finished

Hi Larsa:

Preshading is a pain, but like has been written, pays off later. I like the pile of tape you displayed. Glad to see you took the plunge and joined the build. Lots of time to get it accomplished. Looking forward to more progress.

Best

That pre-shading really looks terrific. And the seat looks terrific. And the seat belt looks terrific. I could have saved time by saying the BUILD is terrific.

Hi folks It took me some days to get all the decals on.Fantasy Printshop does very thin and nice decals. so just using alot off water to slide them in place, they stick very good to the gloss surface.

Hi Larsa:

That is really a striking scheme. I have the checkerboard scheme that I will be getting to at some time. Your preshading is nice, very clean work.

Thanks Mark
The decals is one off the finest I´ll used for a long time. The preshadings yes, there´s still some left. I will in the final stages postshade a little to knock off the brigthness off the decals, but just gentle.

More is comming soon

The scheme is certainly exotic and the decals look terrific! Your work continues to be outstanding. Were there any issues at all with compound curves and the decals?

Hi RAGIII
No issiues at all. After painting the colourscheme I give the areas a coat off gloss varnish from Humbrol, low pressure,so the varnish floated out to a nice smooth gloss surface. The decals got into place with alot off water to get them in place. Almost none decal set or fix was used.Fantasy printshop makes darn good decals..

Hi folks
No I´m not got lost in my garden, been occupied with Silver Wings Gladiator over at WW2 forum, just to get it more interesting I´m also building on Rodens new Staggerwing in 48-scale.Here´s a small update on the Brisfish.
The top wing is glued in place and some off the small part added. Everything went on fine, because everything is more or less covered with decals there´s gentle handling off the model. I do not want any scratches in the decals anywhere. As soon I have all the small parts on I´ll going to seal the decals with a semigloss varnish.

Now there are the small parts that have to be finished before added to the Brisfish before all the rigging works will start.
