Well colour me proud. My idea took off! Hopefully things will calm down for me on the home front. I am desperate to make that Savoia...

Hi everyone.

I'm just checking in.

My aircraft will be more or less scratch built with whatever odd bits and pieces surface in my spare parts box.

I've just about cleared my workbench - I'm just finishing off a Smer Supermarine Walrus which I started almost two years ago. I should be done it this week.

Rick.

I'm going to start with this Cant.Z501 kit.

I like the big red diagonal stripes shown on the box art.
I havent decided to go with the prototype markings or devise a Miyazaki-style Air Pirates paint job.

Hi, everybody.

I'm just checking in - I haven't started yet, but the aircraft will be mostly scratch-built, so for me this takes more prep work (concept/design). Wish me luck.

Bit of a bump as there's been no activity on this thread for 3 months and the campaign is due to end in just over 8 weeks. Just wondering if anyone has started with there builds as there are no progress photos or ongoing posts from anyone in this thread and nothing in the finished gallery.

Hey Richard, it does seem like both of us gravitate to these less popular topics. In one of the campaigns I worked on in 2012, one of my best efforts as well - I was the only one to finish!
So lets get this done!
I have finished all the assemblies on Gabbiano, just a little filling and masking, and will be ready to start painting this weekend.

Ive been looking through the pirate planes in Porco, I think rather than the box art I will try a camo scheme, maroon
over sky blue perhaps.

Hi Jonathan!
I like to build all types but less popular topics keep calling me!
I have my entry ready for the paint shop, right now I am moving my spray booth so by the end of next week I should have it done.
Can you hear an echo in here?
Happy New Year!

Hi. I have been working on a design for a flying boat which I had intended to scratch build. However, I don't think I will have time to do this, so.... Enter Plan B.

I am going to dismantle an old Lindberg 1/48 Stearman biplane and re-build it and back date it to resemble a late 1920's floatplane. I will be adding machine guns like WW1 two sweater. This will still be fun. And, I'll be able to finish by the end of February.

I have to work on how to post pictures on the forum too.

Well I just bought the fine molds S.21. I was going to get a Stranraer or Walrus or something and be creative but I just could not resist that red machine!

My S-21 went together well,I painted the cockpit but as it is 1/72 scale when it was closed up and the figures put in not much can be seen!

Hmmm, I thought I had already posted some WIP pics, but apparently haven't. Well, here's some as I got my S.21 out the box again.

This is the 1:48 Finemolds kit (the 'early' one). Just like the Curtiss S3C kit, this is going together like a dream, the only places I've needed putty so far have been the top seams of the wing floats and some inevitable seams on the beaching dolly.

While the horizontal stabilizers have moulded-in control horns but the ailerons lack them for some reason (probably because they're moulded separately from the wings?), so I mdade them from brass wire.

Not a fan of decal seat harnesses, I'm going to use some MDC PE seatbelts to put together something more convincing.

Engine nacelle and engine construction underway.

Some more detailing going on: the solid exhaust pipes have been drilled open and the side slots opened using a scriber.

Hi, everybody.

I don't have any pictures to put up yet, but I have been busy. I have begun cleaning up the old fuselage and wings of a Lindberg 1/48 Stearman, scratch-building floats, and scrounging up a radial engine from a Smer Bristol Bulldog. I am adding parts from a Roden kit, an Eduard kit, and some figures form diverse sources. I've been taking photos and hopefully I'll be able to get something uploaded soon.

This is a test if I can insert images in a post. This is my staring point of my build. I dis assembled an old Lindberg 1/48 Stearman Trainer an intend on re-building it, and modifying it to be a scout/reconniassance plane. Even pirates need eyes in the sky.

It worked, but I think I'll make my images a bit smaller (too much information) ;-)

Got my s. 21. I thought I'd have the choice of the first or second version of the plane but only the second is allowed... Oh well.

I'm instantly in love with this kit and doubt I'll hit the deadline. It demands too much love. Fine molds do nice work.

Will keep you posted.
