Hi all iv been toying with posting this idea for a campaign for a while and have decided to see what everyone thinks ..
As the title suggests this campaign would be about building any aircraft named after a bird of prey civil or military , from WW1 to the present there are quite a few once you get thinking about it . F-15 , F-16 , Bae Hawk , V-22 Osprey , F-22 raptor even the martinsyde Buzzard from WW1 .. anyway i thought maybe this would be a fun build and really get us researching birds of prey and would turn out some interesting builds... any takers ??

Dave,
This would give me a reason to build one of my F-15's I'm in.
Cheers Rob.

If the timing is right, I'm in and if Ospreys count then do sea birds? They both catch fish.
Albatros DIII or V
Curtis Seagull
Vought Kingfisher
any kits of Gossamer Albatross or Condor?
Christan Eagle
Fairey Gannet
Miles Hobby, Falcon 6, Hawk.
I think this game could go on for some time

thanks for the great responses guys i guess any bird that hunts prey such as small mammals or fish would be allowed i did have the vision of something with talons when i had the idea so i think we should draw the line at insect catch birds .. anyway theres plenty to go at

Howdy Y'all,
I'm interested. Might build a Blackhawk or P-36 Hawk. I hope small scales will be included. Sounds fun.

Note that Blackhawk's would not qualify, as they are not birds of prey but rather an Indian tribe, all US Army Helicopters are named for tribes, the exceptions are all derivative designs, ie the SeaHawk, from Sea BlackHawk or the Cobra (from Huey Cobra, derived from the snake slang for armed UH-1 Iroquois's which the AH-1 was derived from).
Note as such, the Hawker Sea Hawk qualifies but the Sikorsky SeaHawk does not (yep, one named for a bird, the other is a contraction of a Sea Blackhawk)

Howdy Y'all
The Blackhawk will be off the table. I think I would go with the P-36 Hawk or a F-16 Falcon. I hope there's more interest and this campaign becomes official.
Take care,

I should note I'm most definitely in. Not sure what I'll do, but I've got more than a few options in the stash. Probably do either a Hawk 81-A-2 or a Hawker Sea Hawk, or maybe that Uhu I've been putting off.
