Voting time. Trying to decide which one to use Studebaker by itself? Stud towing fuel trailer? Or Dodge WC towing fuel trailer Would the Studebaker be plausible in the PTO I wonder if members and non-members can help me decide

I think that it is a bid odd to have a feul truck pulling a fuel trailer. It may do that during long distance transport operations but on an airfield, there seems to be no need?

In my opinion, the Dodge towing the fuel trailer looks more "real life improvised" and gives opportunity to load the Dodge with some other parts needed for maintenance (an oil drum or two?)

That could be a fuel truck with an oil trailer.

Cheers Rob.

Looks like it will be the WC, I'll mull it over in the next week or two while I'm working on the jeep. D-Slab, it's not that odd to have that combo, I have reference material showing some big equipment on most island bases, loading the dodge bed with gear and equipment is a great idea Jakob, the Dodge WC is from Mig productions part# 48-065, I got it from a vendor on e-bay (dragon-hobby) for a hefty sum, but it seemed to me to be a "must have". I checked the Mig Prod. website and unfortunately it seems to be discontinued, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if they have any left in their stock. A company called Iron Division who sells only on ebay sells a 1/48 Dodge, but its the WC command car not the WC carrier. I just picked one up, it should arrive soon. Looks to be a cracking little kit. I'm back into this project now, I was slowed down by the arrival of the Tamiya 1/32 Corsair but that kit was able to answer a few detail questions I had concerning the 1/48 version. Anyways, good luck everybody on your projects, updates soon...

Hey guys! I could use some help. I'm building a late war FW-190D from like the "Papagei Staffel," red belly with white stripes. I bought Model Master Acrylic RLM 23, which is the Luftwaffe designation for that particular shade of red, yet it appears a little...off .

I haven't found any pics of a real FW-190D in this scheme, only pics of models so that doesn't work, so I can't compare it to the real color. Does anyone have any period pics of a FW-190 or know what the true RLM 23 looks like?

Thanks if you can

Try it over white primer and see whether it looks any better. Reds are quite difficult to apply since they're so easily altered by the underlying colour.

Thx Jessica. I never knew that. I have metelizer aluminum as the base. Gives the paint that semi reflective quality that the real planes have. The red I sprayed is similar to what it looks like in the bottle so I think this is the wrong paint all around. However, I bought a book recently with RLM paint chips in it so I can now create the proper colors for all Luftwaffe projects in the future. The book is called "Camouflage and Markings: Luftwaffe 1939-1945" released by Argus Books. It's small but packed with info.

In another note, I don't feel confident I will make the deadline. School is keeping me busy and I've had problem after problem with this project. I've had to do, re-do, and re-re-do steps several times. Oh the joys of modeling lol. Like my Grandfather would say "Well, ya gotta f*@k up SOMETHING!"

Hmmm. 15 figures to paint, a super detailed Corsair, super detailed jeep, and a Dodge WC, plus various other details to paint and weather. All in 9 weeks may the modeling gods be kind or maybe just an extension on the deadline

You can do it!

I have finally restarted my little project of a Gloster Gladiator in a wintery scene in Finland. I have changed the scale though and I’m building the Roden 1/48 model instead with Eduard etch and the vector resin engine. Here’s my progress so far:

Mhhh, this long 1st November weekend will hopefully give me a long and intense modelling session or I will be in the same kind of trouble.

Despite that, this ampaign has finally made me start on a long standing dream of building apart of an airfield in 1/48 an only that makes this campaign to a real success.

I may not be finished on time but I crossed the line of no return already on this project, if not only because it turns out to be failry expensive
