Hi Richard, rigging was never my subject

but yours seems to become a decent job. Will be looking great, I'm sure.
Bad news from my SPAD project, it's the final blow to my intended build of General Ky's personal mount. The spare decals didn't disintegrate, but instead declined to stick and that was it. I'll be looking for an alternative for the USN. There are some exhibitions coming here and I will be looking there. Anyway the campaign lasts for the rest of the year, so I'm looking forward to finish over the next months.

Before you give up on those decals which decline to stick, try applying them on a small puddle of Future/Klir and let it dry. That ought to hold them in place.

Thanks for your good advice Jessie, but I must say, I've decided to leave it there and get me some USN decals from the colorful 60ies. EagleStrike has some good ones. I can always leave General Ky in the cockpit "on a visit with his "american brothers in arms"

Howdy Y'all
Here's my entry, Monogram's 1/48 F-5E Freedom Fighter. I also had some bad luck with old decals so I'm building this plane as "what if." I'll put green splotches on it and dress it up in Japan markings.

I'll plan to finish this for our club's "Japan" contest in May.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

I tried to make some progress over the week.

I ran into some problems.
I tried to mask the leading edges and ended up pulling up the metalizer and green cammo. I ended up hand painting the yellow leading edges. The paint was thick and uneven. I will use 1000 grit to wet-sand the yellow paint and smooth it out. Then back to the drawing board.
Take care,

Hi All,
I finished the SEA Scheme on my Hobby Boss F-111c now all I need to do is track down a 48 scale sheet to replace the kit offerings for the R.A.A.F. birds.
Paints on the upper surface are Humbrol Enamels #'s 116, 117 and 118, lower surface if Vallajo Black Acrylic.

Nice camo Rob.
Don - shame about the masking, that was an interesting looking whiff.

I knew I couldn't maintain my focus on the B1, so here's a late war fighter trio already in progress. Hopefully I will get one of these done this week

Ancient REvell Ta152, Hobby Boss Me163 and FW 190
Me163 Hobby Boss quick builder and boy is it. It's got about 15 parts total including the wheeled dolly.

Not sure why I stopped after washing only one wing

Crummy Hobby Boss 'pebbled' plastic that I was too lazy to sand out.

pretty proud of the pinstripes though..
topside looks good

It's going to hang from my clasroom ceiling so done will be done.
weird, I cropped these on photobucket before posting, but the uncropped versions are showing up here. Maybe the changes have not taken effect there. Will check back later.

Just a reminder here, but there's still no ribbon loaded for this campaign. Always a good idea to have a flashy ribbon, it can drive enlistment!

Hi Michael, I know a ribbon has been created, is it my job as campaign leader to upload it?
Hi Mike, its not showing up - campaign gallery is empty.

I will hopefully finish my Monogram F-5E this weekend. I need to get it done for our club's "Japan" contest this coming Friday. The bad news-NO CAMERA in the house! My family went on a trip and took the cameras. I'll post the finished model when they come back.
@Robbie-how do you like those Sword kits? I've never built one but some of them are interesting subjects like the ones you've chosen.
Take care,

I noticed there is no campaign ribbon. My proposal is for a new design, a phoenix rising from ashes.

Someone has designed a campaign ribbon (same format as before, just with the III changed to IV), it just needs uploading.
