Speaking of Then and Now...
I need to glue on the main gear doors and make certain that the engines aren't going to drop off the wings and then it'll be done

Really, a beautiful job on that 787, Jessica. As expected.
I'd rather fly Cessna 150 Airways than get on with that carrier, but, they do have pretty airplanes. Your model does them justice when they can't garner any for themselves.

@Jessica--Yes, outstanding job! Will we be seeing shots of the undercarriage sometime soon?

Okay, calling this one done
And for Keith
Moving on to Connie, I've got her basic paint done
Then a bit of basic black
And the first pass at the decals, still very wet here

Nice, you might get me to try an airliner sooner rather than later.

Latest and not greatest off the shelf of shame..
cruddy ancient Hasegawa F15E with the abysmal foreward fuselage to main body joint.
Oh well, building wheels up for the classroom ceiling so the grey is sprayed and the gloss is curing. Next washes into those fine Hasegawa panel lines and 847 decals.

The 787 is nice Jessie, but the Connie is even nicerer
Mike, is that the Hasegawa E that's really a D with different decals? Although if its hung from the ceiling it will take a super-spotter to know the difference

@Jessica--
The whole kit and finish came out great and the Connie is looking like it's following in its footsteps.
I'm hoping to start back up on the 1/32 F-16A after returning from a quick vacation. Looking forward to seeing more work from everyone.

--Thanks Jess! For this old aircraft hydraulics troop it's nice to see the oft forget and frequently ignored landing gear. And for Keith

Hi everybody,
here is something I wanted to do for the Smurf-campaign when I got sick and everything stopped for quiet a while. Last month I re-awakened her and now I'm nearly done. She's a F-86F-30-NA Sabre in 1-144 scale and nearly finished.

Ive signed up for this campaign as have two kits I want to get finished before the end of this year and as I have finally got my model building enthusiasm back thought it would be a good idea to get some half done kits finished before starting anymore.
Kit 1 will be Tamiya's 1/48 Gekko which was an entry for the Nightfighters campaign a year or so ago but I gave up with modelling so it got put onto a top shelf to gather dust.
Kit 2 will be a 1/32 Hobbyboss Spitfire which was started for the Looney Toons campaign but it suffered the same fate as the Gekko.
Hopefully these 2 kits will finally be finished this year

Here's where my builds are currently at:
First off is the Revell Lightning F.6. I believe it to be rebox of an ancient Frog/Hasegawa kit. Despite the simple interior and raised panel lines, it's been a fairly trouble free build so far. The wings and fuselage are glued together and awaiting a clean up. I've also fitted in an Airwaves Etch cockpit and an ejector seat courtesy of the spares box.
And secondly the Ye Olde Airfix Mosquito NF.II/FB.VI/XVIII. The Mossie is much further along but was a pain in the ass in a few places. The undercarriage in particular is a devil to build neatly. Only needs some minor work and then its off to be painted.
Decals for both will come from the Xtradecals sheet for RAF 23 Sqn aircraft from 1940-90's. I also have a couple of sheets for the all important stenciling.
I'm determined to finish both.
Looking forward to seeing everyone else's builds.
Stephen

Hi everybody,
I did the rest of the decals and planted a "pilot" into the cockpit, actually a 1:160 scale Preiser Railroad figure. Next will be closing the cockpit and a wash and some weathering. Then she'll be ready to lift off.
Jessie, that's a great looking Connie. Keep her coming.

Well the Gecko is making rapid progress engines attached, primed, pre shading done and a coat of alclad aluminum. Next will be part one of the salt chipping and main colours onto the kit. Then there will be a second salt chipping for the markings and codes to be airbrushed on. Beginning to wonder why I threw the towel in with this one in the first place its been a joy to work on.

Hi all!
With the summer and all, there's finally time to get some modeling done. Hopefully I'll get at least one hangar queen finished. Out of the half-dozen or so unfinished kits, I'll get going with MPMs 1:72 Defiant mk.I.
This is the state it's in at the moment:
Wings and fuselage assembled, with first round of puttyig and/or Surfacer done, most of the detail parts off the sprues. The only aftermarket parts I've got for the kit so far are brass MG barrels from Master.
Here's a couple of pics I took of the interior before I assembled the fuselage. I can't remember ever posting these anywhere before the build project stalled. Almost straight from the box, I only added a throttle lever and cut a hole in the rear wall for seatbelts made out of some left-over PE straps.

@Jess, Wot, no ventral shots of the landing gear?!
Just kiddin'. She looks good.
As do the rest of the builds coming along.
@Hans-Peter-- your tiny -86 had me fooled. I thought it was a much larger scale.
@Mike--that is a boatload of decals on your -15.
@Eatu--I had to look up what a Defiant was. Learned my new thing for the day.
@Sam--I had to remind myself what a Gecko was. Looking forward to seeing the paint job and weathering.
My F-16 is still on hold. But I did some 'research' this weekend at the Hill AFB Open House and Air Show. Lots of -16s on display, including the Thunderbirds!

Hi Everybody,
after putting the rest of the decals on, a wash and a bit of weathering I call the F-86 in 1-144 done. She depicts a plane of the 335th FIW in Korea depicted on the front cover of Osprey's "F-96 Sabres of the 4th Fighter Interceptor Wing" by Warren Thompson. If anybody can name the pilot, I would be very happy. Thanks in advance.
And here some pics:
As I saw the large photos I thought, Oh my god, what a mess, you overdid everything, but in original size it doesn't look nearly as bad as in the photos. So, next time I'm doing such a tiny thing, i'll be more careful.
All the best, HP
