Picture as promissed.

I'll build it as one of the kit dekal options: WJ232, the famous Mig-15 killer from Korea flown by Peter Carmichael

Here is my entry, originally from the 55 Years of Phabulous Phantoms campaign!

Cheers Rob.

Hey, I remember that one! Mainly from the box art

Hi Mike,

your Sukhoi looks great. She's well battered and looking badass. What I also like is, that she's inflight! I'm doing my new plane kits also inflight because ... well, their aeroplanes, not groundoplanes, aren't they?

I kid you not, I once read an article in a well known model magazine where the author stated that building models in-flight was "unrealistic, because they spend 95% of their time on the ground"

First post in this thread in six months. This was my Hasegawa 1/48 F-2B at the end of the Land of the Rising Sun campaign

And this is it now

Eagle eyed viewers will notice that one of my missiles is missing its seeker head....the carpet monster took it, and so far shows no signs of returning it!

The decals look awesome. Was the tail flash one piece or a multi-decal assembly?

Nice match for the JSDF blues too.

Cheers Guys,

I thought I might add my looooong time project here. I spare myself of posting a picture of my started model as I have a whole thread started in 2007 that proves: this is old!!

Zvezda La-5FN

So here is the finished model:

all the best

I finally got the cockpit installed took a lot of cutting of the nose gear bay to get it to fit. I put in some strips to help spread the fuse apart and keep it tight to the wing as well as a strip along the front of the wing to fill a gap.

Cheers Rob.

If you say so? I remember it to be earlier but Photo date indicates 09.2007. Does it count? This time I am determined to finish it!

Oh oh! I have an even older UH-1N but don't want to rush it ;}

Ok, so latest and greatest hangar/shelf queen to get some of my attention. Revell of Germany's Su-34 in 1/72
Motivation due to Mil.photos russian military thread and Akan (Akah?) new 'eggplant' modern Russian a/c dr grey.

with a coat of Russian emerald green cockpit interior on the canopy before final installation and airbrushing the fuselage color.

The bag o bits left. More Russian LBG's than I though I had.. and here I was waiting for HLJ to send me the new Modern Russian weapons for the LGB's.. gotta look in these boxes more often.

Eventuallly will sport new Russian livery courtesy of Begemot and a squidillion weapons stencils from the same source.

Howdy Y'all
I last posted in April, finished the Monogram F-5E in "what if" Japan markings since then. I entered the model in one of our club contests and my daughter also used it as for a "trick" photo in her photo class.
Y'all take care,
Don "Lakota"

THe Hanger Queen campaign threads are always amusing , so many varied and interesting projects together!

Ive finished filling, fairing and painting this AModel 1/144 C-123. nothing like a coat of bare metal color to make one feel inadequate...

I have a few decals to print, and the Tamiya paint needs a day to harden.

Howdy Y'all,
Jonathan-I resemble that remark!
How do you like that gloss aluminum? Would you try a different color next time or is this a keeper?
Take care,

Some progress,

I had just about finished with the fuse when I discoverer that I had lost the piece that goes behind the rear canopy luckily I had an extra in a Hasegawa kit so with a little work I got that fixed. I have quite a few F4 kits so I have made some copies of parts to fix some of them, the area behind the rear IP and the throttle that is missing in most kits, I think that came from my Academy kit. Finally I temporarily glued on the masked canopy for painting.

Cheers Rob.

I finished a hanger queen. This was my entry in the "Smurf Scale" campaign last winter, so it hasnt gathered that much dust really.

two foot rule on this one, all the usual A-model challenges and a few errors I have no intention of fixing. Anyway, it's a handsome little model of a favorite aircraft and will fit nicely into my model world.

Put a second coat of both colors on, I thinned the paint too much the first time so took some thinner out.

Technically this campaign closes today. Anyone interested in taking on Hangar Queen V?
