Welcome to the campaign, everyone

It's still October 31 where I live, so I won't take photos of my kit until tomorrow morning. However, I am doing a DHC-6 more or less in these colors:

I really hope we get a great showing of the diverse aviation output employed by various countries. Good luck with all your builds

I won't be posting again for a while considering I'm in university right now, but I'll post something once my exams are done. I'm considering an Avro Arrow but I need a quick project. I only have about two weeks for my winter break and then by the time the winter term's over this campaign will almost be over.

Would a "what-if" of the Avro Arrow in service be acceptable? I think it would be cool to see the Arrow in grey (and it would help hide the fact I can't paint better) but if that's a no go I'll stick with the white paint job.

There's nothing in the rules that say it can't be a what-if, Mark. An Arrow in grey would be just fine

Been eagerly waiting for this campaign to begin!

Gonna tackle my Wingman/Kinetics Alpha Jet in between my current build on the Grumman campaign.

Here we go then! I have been looking forward to starting this project for a long time. I studied at the University that was built on the site of the factory where the forerunners of this aircraft were built. What the heck! am I babbling on about, I hear you all cry - this!:

In addition to the base kit, I have acquired a couple of Alley Cat resin sets, one to correct the tail fin, and the other is for the windscreen plus masks for creating the scab plate around the cockpit windows. At a later stage, I will get some better decals, as the kit items are a little out of register.

Best of luck everyone!

This is going to be great; day 1, and there's already an interesting variety of aircraft. This is going to be spectacular.

This is my kit:

This is actually a re-box of the 1980's Matchbox kit. I feel strongly it was one of Matchbox's better kits, and is still a very acceptable quality. Its likely the only game in town for an injection molded DHC-6.

Anyway, photos are in, so I can start anytime! Have fun

Nice choice, Richard.
MiniWings does manufacture fine kits, but, they can still be tricky. Good luck with yours!

Some interesting choices of build.
I'm in with another Matchbox kit, the Percival Provost T.Mk.1.

I'll be building OOB with most of the kits decals as the RAF Central Flying School Provost based at Little Rislington, as seen on the box top. The Day-glow stripes are surprisingly good, I just hope they maintain colour density! The roundels will need replacing as the red centres are all off. I'll be keeping the Omani markings for use on a Strikemaster.

Hi Ben
There is an issue with the models length, casting blocks will have to be blended into shape to make the length correct.
I will post photos of the mods.

Hi
My entry is a Spitfire VB in South African colours

The decals are from a local company called MAVDecals, I have used them before and have been happy with them.

Welcome, Robert. You can never have enough Spitfire's in the display.

Jesper, an F-16 in Nordic colors certainly fits nicely.

Richard, I own five MiniWing kits, and all need a tweak somewhere to keep them straight, so I know what you mean.

The snow will be here soon; prime-time modelling season.

@ Stephen. The Provost was a fine trainer and is a welcome, different subject.
I like Matchbox kits; except for the inaccurate one design props and the heavy multi-attachment sprue. All around though, they're quite nice.

Well, I'm in.
I have an old Fujimi 1/72 RF-4C kit lying around for two decades in my cellar, now near my bench at last So I intend to put it together now. Markings for Luftwaffe are included, so it's perfect now. Photos will follow when the gallery problem is fixed.
Let's have fun together
Cheers

Welcome to the campaign, Peter. Happily, you have turned us over to 40 enlistees. Good luck with your build

I've started on the Revell Twin Otter. I'm not overly concerned with the interior, so I quickly did it up with paint and decal. Frankly, I feel kit interior decals are always so comic looking, that I rarely use them. In this case, little will be seen of the interior. I've brushed the cabin with a medium grey.
My main concern with this build is the exterior finish.

Okay here's my entry into this particular Campaign! A Mosquito NF30 of 488 RNZAF Squadron on the continent during the last few months of the war. Perhaps not as well known as it's sister squadron 487 and the famous raids on Amiens and the Gestapo head quarters. But it took out quite a number of trains and aircraft along the way in it's night intruder role. Here are a couple of pics to show what I'll be up too. Airfix have simply added another sprue to model the new engines and wing tops but the rest of the kit is the original 1980 offering. Not excessively abundant detail but it'll look okay with a little painting and perhaps some extra additions.

Ok then, my first progress shot of the Nimrod's flight deck:

Also, as my work bench is fairly clear until January, I have decided to add a second build for this campaign - Italeri's 1/72 Bae Harrier GR3.

Cheers Everybody!

Hi, Lee. Nice to see a two build campaign effort; well done.
I like your Nimrod crew figures; you should be able to clearly see the faces when the fuselage is closed up.
I'm glad there's another start this early in the campaign.

Hi, Michael Satin, Ben and all,

Is a hovering machine called the flying machine? I haven't seen any helicopter here yet.

I intend to enter this campaign with my KP's 1/72 Mi-8T covered VPAF green colour. Is it accepted?

Sincerely,
K., from Vietnam.

Hi Mr K.
Your Mi-8 is certainly allowed; it's a flying machine as per the rules. So long as it carries your countries markings as noted in your profile.

Just hit the enlist button here, and welcome to the campaign.

Hi,

A good chance for me. I will take a Mi-8 kit with PVAF insignia and camouflage in this campaign.

Thank Ben and everyone.
Regards,
K.
