Great build Mal! I like your painting and it almost looks like the decals have been painted on...
I've always had an idea that I should build bases to enhance the finished model, but I always tend to put that off because I can't build bases as well as I can't build aircraft models. Well, I've never tried to build a base, but I'm sure it's really tricky with dirt and concrete and stuff. But you just gave me an idea of how to build bases for my models, an idea that leaves out the need for the tricky things...
You also gave me a good injection of inspiration to finish my Revell Spit.
Thanks!
/Fredrik

Cracking build Mal, and it looks great in the display cabinet. Hard to imagine the next one being any better!

Hi again Mal
It really does look great in that display case. I was only thinking earlier today that I need to sort out something to put the AEG in (there's nothing like planning ahead! ), because it'll be a nightmare if it gets dusty.
All the best

Comments like that Fredrik will get you a visit from the MPMP!
Finding a picture frame of the right size seemed impossible then I found a frame shop in the indoor market in Truro and they had the perfect size, and many sizes in stock and in many styles. The acrylic was cut to size for only £10.33. I had to buy a roll of grass matt, but I hope to sell the rest of that on, it cost as much as the frame! The process of building the base and case was pretty easy. For a concrete base you just need grey card and pencil on the joints and cracks
Thanks Terri

Thanks Damian, Oh it will, there are many things that really need doing better, I won't list them as I don't want to spoil the illusion The next one will have a fully detailed cockpit as well, so I will be able to have the cockpit canopy open
Thanks Rowan Yep, you will certainly need to protect the AEG from dust, I needed to protect the spit from muppets that think that its OK to touch models, I really don't want to have to do any repairs!

Mal,
It certainly does look great in that display case. Well done. It's an exceptional build that I truly enjoyed following from start to it's completion.

Thanks Joel, I enjoyed the build, I'm just hoping that I get to speak to Mr Wellum about a couple of things
