Hi everybody, I just looked over my shelf and found this H-19 from Italeri. So I am happy to be in with this kit in 1/72.
By the way, I want to build this kit with the ordinary landing gear. Does anybody know, if this kit contains all necessary parts? Or has anybody good photos of the landing gear?
Oliver

the kit you have there does have the non float gear as well as the float gear so you should have no trouble at all with that.

@Oliver: I am excited to see your H19 build.
@Drabslab: I am ready to see more CH-53 photos.
@Doug: we all need a build with no vices in between those that make us pull our hair out (in my case if I had any )
Bob

@Doug: Thank You very much Doug. So I can leave the float gear aside and I will change this into the fixed gear version easily!
@Bob: Build will start hopefully next week, if the additional PE parts will arive. So I got some time for literature research. I found this one on Youtube. Probably it is well known, but it was new to me. Here is the link:

A very useful walk around!

Hey Bob
I use Tamiya paint in an old Pashe single action airbrush, with Johnson Floor polish as a clear gloss coat, the only enamels I use will be on the final dull coat and that will be Testors dull coat. I will do an oil paint wash with Windsor Newton burnt umber and black mixed thined with a trupintine substitute called Turpinoid, it is very mild and wont hurt the paint.

Hobby Boss 1/72 Kamov Ka-29 Helix-B
Hi everyone,
First of all, Doug, that A-Star looks great, and so fast, very good work.
I got a start on my entry, the HobbyBoss Ka-29, awesome, funny looking helicopter. I have the the PE kit from Part out of Poland which is meant for the Italeri kit but I'm sure it will make due with a little creativity. I personally have a serious problem with AMS so I have set clear rules for myself, I am not allowed to completely remove molded detail and only add representative shapes and details to improve overall detail. Im going to open up some doors on the helo because they are very strange and will look funny opened up.
Traditional start entry photo and very inspirational photo of the Kamov
The kit had a lot of ejector pin marks, if I hadn't opened the doors I would not have had to deal with them. Overall this kit's fit and engineering is excellent, I believe I could build it clean OOB in only a few hours. The parts fit together in a way that hides seam lines and ejector pin marks, very clever.
Opening the aft port hatch and building some simple interior details:
Opening the forward starboard hatch only half way and detailing the cockpit bulkhead and interior:
Next up will be cockpit which will require considerable changes because of the PE mash up.
I'm excited to see some of the other helicopter take flight,
Thanks for looking,
Bryan

Bryan and Bob: Very nice progress, indeed!
Sorry for being slow, but this weekend is awfully hot for a mid- european! So modeling desk will see me hopefully at the beginning of next week . Meanwhile etched parts and some masks from arrived!

WELL DONE! Doug, I can only hope to even come close to your finish. Love the paint and the subtle weathering on your SW-4.
