Lars, your camo application looks superb. Looking forward to the finished project.
Best wishes,

Hi Ian thx for the compliments!
@all: here a pic of the wash on the top site. I am almost finished, just have to do the rear wings and the nose. Than some painting on bits and pieces (like the exhausts) and the final assembly... must be possible till Sunday! If I have some time left I will throw in some schratches left and right.. but lets see...

Lars,
It's really starting to look the part. I've always been curious about the long red or yellow decals used across the back of many Dornier models.
I just can't pick them out in many photos, so often I didn't use the on my Do215.

Nice color modulation and weathering Lars, vivid, yet at the same time well muted and linked together. I have had the old glue smear issue in the past. I use either microscale crystal clear or Gator Glue to attach clear parts so clean up is possible and easy at least. I hope you are able to get the hiccup fixed.

Hi guys.. after putting on the last bits and pieces the bird is finished. It was a nice build and I learned a thing or 2. The weathering stays basic, so no streaks and chipping... no exhausts marks also because I have learned they should run over the whole wing and I dont like the look of it.
Here we are, thx for the ride guys!
Well now I hope to get the bird into a transport box without breaking all parts off. The first try failed misarable. Breaking of the antenna wire, the rear wheel bay doors (fixed them also in another position), the right wheel..etc. Wish me luck.
gr TC
PS Gazza, I wished I had talked to yu about the yellow walking line earlier... then I would have spared myself applying it. As you can see the band on the right wing didnt get on straight (grrr)

Hi Lars, the end result looks nice! I think exhaust stains would have been more congruous with your other weathering efforts.

Hi Lars fantastic work on the Do215!
Wing walkways are sometimes a problem as you're never sure whether they are actually used. If the aircraft has been repaired or resprayed (think winter camo) then often the stencils and wing walkways were not visible or possibly not replaced.
If you can find photos of your particular aircraft then sometimes you can see what stencils markings were used. Assuming of course you can find the view you want!

Thanks guys!
I just won a silver price on the show yesterday. Now I have to say it is an armour specialised club (there the standard is very high. There are some AFV moddeler contributers who only won silver) and there were only a dozen or so plane entries but still, silver is silver and I am happy :-).
My daughter also won silver with her Sopwith Camel!
Well time to move on. I will post info on my new project soon.

Lars,
I took a quick look at the start of your Fokker build, and will stop by from time to time, as WW1 is not an era that hold my interests to any great degree.

Thx Ernest en Joel.
I really hope you take look and continue giving advices. Thx to some tips here I really got the bird to another level and I would hope to do so with the Fokker. Also (although I also like WW1 themed birds) this is more an excercise for my techniques then for special interest...
well hope to see you!

Great build, I followed here! Thank You very much for sharing with us. From the interior to the finishing it was a real joy! I like especially the finish, with the painting and washing. Just on spot. And cheers for the prize You won.
I will be happy to follow Your next build.

Thanks buddy but unlikely the eldest is 26 and the youngest 18 so if they don't have it now they're probably immune! LOL

Lars,
Overall, you did a great job on the build. The painting, and especially the weathering really sets this build apart from so many others I've seen.
And congratulations on the Silver, the build certainly deserves it.
