Michael, congrats on crossing the finish line. I really like the look of your track. Is the color a home brew?

It's a Tamiya mix recommended by an IDF website. Don't remember what it is at the moment. I'll try to look it up if you're interested.

David - Your M51 came out really well. Great job. Love the look of this version, that profile is awesome and intimidating.
Stephen - Always liked the 'delta' look and enjoyed watching the F-106s of 5th FIS when I was stationed at Minot AFB. Your Mirage is really bringing the details out.
Clayton - My first preference is WW II German armor. Your Pz IV is coming along outstandingly. Really enhanced well with the PE and your attention to detail.
Michael - 'Lead by example' with a fine, clean build. That scheme really draws attention and adds to the appeal.
Finished up with the lower hull and have base coat. Working on completing last bits and details to turret, then base coat and weathering for whole Magach. Hope I can get crewmember done also, but may have to go 'buttoned up' due to time. Have plans now for a Magach 3 as a follow-up build. Thanks for looking,
Mike

OK everyone, about 10 days left. Better pour it on!
Michael
BTW, that paint mix, for those interested (Ken) is Tamiya XF60 and XF57 combined 1:1. Interestingly, the '73 mix is XF57, XF59, and XF20 in equal amounts. The post-'82 mix recommended is XF20 and XF57 one to one. I found all this at the IDF Modelling Site under the Articles link, a good general reference for IDF vehicles.

Thanks Michael that's the batch I'm using on my Centurion, the big push is on " I Love it"

Finished the Syrian Panzer IV Ausf.H. The history of these tanks is pretty amazing- while mostly ineffective as a battle tool, the fact that they were still in operation at all 22 years after WWII is evidence of the engineering capability of the Germans. I got the inspiration from this photo:
And mine:
And, a ghost from the past...
Thank you Michael for a great campaign, some really nice builds! See y'all in the next one!

Clayton -
Congrats on completing the "Six Day War 50th" with a very clean and well done build. Outstanding and unique subject. Here's hoping all of us get a shot at such a long, productive operqtional life. Hope to have my 'Magach 2' finished this weekend.

Clayton,
Very nice work! Yeah, Shermans and Panzer IVs in the Mideast in 1967. Whodda thunk it?

Michael & Clayton - Definitely think your M3 Half-track & Pz IV paint schemes came out better than my so-so attempt. I got it too 'tan'. Anyway, I got the turret and upper deck finished, and the base paint done. I'll have the final paint, decals, and weathering to get completed this weekend. Also want to get a tank commander and some stowage finished. I have a weak kit figure, but I'm hoping to get a Verlinden IDF figure finished this weekend also. Almost there.

Thanks. The Mirage is one of my favourites and there is something very attractive about the delta designs of the cold war period. They just scream speed! Not so sure I picked the right kit though as the lower fuselage to wing join is terrible. Your M48 is looking great too.
Not long returned from my holiday in Malta so hopefully I can continue with my build soon.
Great holiday away and returned with some ideas to build some aircraft from the Malta campaign. And mild sunburn.

Michael, Mike & Clayton. Great jobs on your builds.
I did know that the Panzer was still in use after WWII.

Here's where I'm at. Seems like I used half a tube of Green putty on the belly!
I will be gluing the main gear doors shut, seems to have been common in the III's to prevent dust and dirt entering on rough strips.
Will I make the deadline? That's the question.

I'm calling this entry finished in order to be sure I get it posted it time for the completion of "Six Day War 50th". Heading out to Washington coast for Labor Day and us 'old guys' tend to get confused easily and forgetful. I still have some weathering to do, touch up, and finishing up the 'real' tank commander figure I want to use, not the crummy looking sub.
I'm just getting really back into modeling after a period of every once in a while efforts and needed to clear space in my stash. I had 2-Tamiya M48A3 kits so decided to try at a Magach 2 for one with the Campaign and follow that one up with a Magach 3 (many thanks to "HeavyArty" for inspiration and build info) with the other based on lesson learned. First image is of Magach 2 motivation, then my 'attempt'.
Michael - thanks for the opportunity, inspiration and a great Campaign to get me going and motivated in building again. I've got the 'bug' back.

Thanks guys. I made my goal and managed to get the Verlinden IDF Tank Commander figure done for the Magach. I think he is an improvement and adds to the build much more than the previous figure, now a casualty. Great builds out there with jobs well done and deserving. Again, a outstanding Campaign Michael and thanks.

See the PM I sent. In my experience the campaign
gallery can pick your photos up directly from your hard drive. Have you done that?

Thanks for your help! Keep getting this when I hit the submit button. Have uploaded lots of pictures over the years, not sure what is up. Log-out of both acct and logged back in. And it is happening on different computers ... Maybe an Account problem. I will contact Admin
