Looks interesting Ryan. Often seen that one around so I'll be keen to see how it builds.

I'll be in with my Jordanian Hunter just as soon as I manage to find it.

Hi,

Please find my entry for this campaign - a Tamiya M51 Sherman. I plan to upgrade a few of the small details but otherwise I am going to build it oob.

After doing some research on the subject, I found that the camo pattern that I wanted to do on my MiG-17 came about after the six day war. This kit isn't one that I'd want to present with a bare metal finish so I think I'll withdraw from this campaign. There are plenty of others for me to enter. Cheers!

Once again, another quick update.
I've kept both parts of the hull separated to apply all the small 'PE' from the Eduard set and the supplied 'PE'.

pic 1

Front of hull, I've done some soldering for the copper'PE'and some CA glue for the plated 'PE' from Eduards. The headlights have a coat of 'masking' over the lens, that's why they look a aqua color. Also, Tamiya tape for the view finder for the driver, soft copper wire for the handles.

pic 2

The rear hull, not much going on here but the storage shelve will be all 'PE' and water containers are done but not installed yet.
also, the 'PE' chains for the fluid caps.

......more to come.

I have completed the Lower Hull, Suspension (minus the rubber), Tracks with guide horn and most of the pioneer tools glued on. (They will be hand painted before 'weathering'starts) I've kept the suspension assembly unglued to paint them first, before gluing to hull.

Now it's on to the turret......

Thomas, your M51 is looking great. I hadn't realised just how different a beast they were to the usual wartime M4's! Looking forward to the finished result.

My hunt for the Hunter has proven fruitless. I know it is one of the dozen or so packing boxes still to unbox from my house move, but no sign of it yet.
I have however found an Airfix Mirage IIIC that I will build instead.

I think we all know this kit so I won't waste time describing it in detail. It's an old kit that has been around for as long as the Mirage itself. Basic interior and raised lines but looks like what it should be. I've yet to compare it with plans, but I hardly see the point except for curiosity. I'll simply build this OOB just to complete it for the campaign and get it out of the stash. I can live with it's faults. The included weapons are a centreline Matra R511 missile and underwing JL100 rocket/fuel pods. Neither of which were used by the IDF, so I'll build her clean.

I've got a good selection of decals from DP Casper's Operation Moked and Isradecals Mirage IIIC/B sheets and some stencils from Almark.

Main references are Ospreys Mirage and Nesher Aces and Histoire & Collections Mirage family. Quite an interesting little book, packed full of profiles and details for every major Mirage variant and user.

Should be a fun little build.

Hi Guys, WIP update, working on my first AFV kit, IDF Centurion. So far I'm impressed. The tank is falling together, no problems. Can't wait to start painting and weathering

I once heard a quote that an 'artist' never finishes their work,...they just abandon it.....
I think I've done enough to 'abandon' this one....
but before I left I added an additional resin kit from Legend:

The past few weeks I went on a building spree to get this done.
My submission........

Nice M51, Thomas. I think I'll continue with same tank, but from different manufacturer:

Thomas, nice work!

Pasi, I just finished that kit for the Armor of the Civil War Campaign. An excellent choice.

I'm still struggling with what to build for this one but right now the choice is between the Magach 2 or the M3A1 half track, both by Dragon.

Thomas, your ISHERMAN is nice as Michael stated.

I wish to enter the campaign with a REVELL H34 in Israeli markings.

Thomas, great work on your Sherman. Beautifully finished and congrats on being the first across the line!

I started cutting plastic today.
Found the original copyright and date on the fuselage insides. 1964!

First thing I did was to do something about the horrible intakes. These would scale out to about 2 foot thick. Hardly aerodynamic!

I attacked them with a half round file and finally finished off with smoothing the edge out with wet and dry. Looks a little more scale like.

I painted the insides with Vallejo modelair aluminium and fitted the shock cones. Awful fit but I can live with it.

I'm reminded again that we desperately need a new tooled Mirage IIIC in 1/72 scale. Eduard and Hobbyboss have done a couple of fantastic kits in 1/48 and it would be great if they scaled those down.

As the kit has nothing in the cockpit but a rough approximation on an ejector seat, I decided to add a pilot to fill it out.
This guy isn't the kits (he was way too small and a little mis-shapen) but another Airfix kit and a pretty fair representation of a 50's/60's pilot.

I painted him with Vallejo paints except for the helmet which was painted with Humbrol gloss acrylics.

Didn't turn out too bad.
