I might have to push my entry back into the second half of the campaign (as much as I'm itching to start this!) but I'm really looking forward to this as it'll be the first aircraft I've revisited from my teenage years.

Well, I have started the F-14 and so far it has been an easy and pleasant build. Main fuselage is basically finished and cockpit is done. Only modification done is ejector handles which I made from thin copper wire. Adding them to the seat gives a better look in my opinion and it is easy to do. I have also added a sight for the pilot but it is hard to see on my crap cell phone pictures. The kit has a very good fit and if all goes to plan (which most probably will not happen...) it should be finished next week...

A little paint on the fuselage, fuel tanks and Phoenix missiles more or less done. I realize that the Phoenix missiles might be of the wrong color (1989 scheme), but I will leave them as they are. Got some paint on the Aim-9 and Aim-7 as well. In general I'm really enjoying this kit.

I have finished the build and has moved into the paint and decaling process. No problems building this kit and very little filler was needed. I have also made a base for the kit. The sign says ""Can be built without gluing yourself to the fuselage". The reason for this is a friend of mine who tried to build a F-14 when we served in Afghanistan and ended up gluing himself to the fuselage...

And thanks to bad spring weather all the decals are on. They need a couple of rounds of Micro Sol though.

So I've managed to find a bit of time to get started after all !
I've made a solid start on the cockpit but still need to do a bit of detail painting on the various panels and the bang seats...

Finished! Not my greatest work but it is a long time since I built a 1:72 plane. It has been fun.

Great work Eric ! That's a lot to admire in a 1/72 sized plane.

So, I'm going to build Hasegawa's old F-16A in Montana ANG markings.
I finally got started today, fitting the Aires cockpit I picked up for it.

Finish one campaign, (Six Day War) on to the next....
I will enter this Kinetic 1/48 F-16 'Sufa' for this build.
I have had this kit laying around for 8 years, June 2009, receipt was in the box...
Here it is w/o any sprue cut...
As you can see, I have Eduard Brassin, IsraCast, Wolfpack, J-works and Two Bob decals all for this kit...
I have never done a 'Kinetic' kit before so I do not know the quality of 'fit' the kit has or the accommodation for any aftermarket product... If I come across any I will take a pic of it and make any notes for corrective action if needed...

That looks like a lot of added goodies Thomas, looking forward to seeing this one progress.
I've had more time to work on the Strike Eagle than I expected and have finished up the cockpit/nose section to the stage where it can be attached to the rest of the fuselage -
The fuse itself has the intakes fitted and the different parts making up the wings attached -
And I've been puzzled over the design of the exhaust.... The intakes have a separate fan section which is easily painted and then glued way at the back of the intake. Why, I wonder, is the exhaust with it's flame holder in a hard to reach area not treated the same way?
I decided to chop them off to better paint them. You'll never know they were separate once its back together.

Skipping step '1', because of the addition of the Wolfpack resin set, I moved on to step '2'.... Well, because of excess plastic from the mold ejectors... it looks like there will be some obvious 'plastic surgery' and sanding to correct the removal process... these two parts are of the airflow intake right up to the fan blades.. they should be smooth on both sides, but here you can see the defects...
I was hoping for an easy build w/o issues..
BTW, Eric... Nice work on the 'Tomcat'...
