Whoops, forgot to launch this one (again)!
Welcome to Hot Out of the Molds 2018! This campaign is for those who have a brand new kit (anything with a copyright date of 2017 or 2018) and want to get right to it. Build logs are encouraged so we can all see how the new kit goes together. The campaign is once again being led by our friend Jesper (SGTJKJ).
If you want to see the rules and sign up, go here. Pictures of the finished product go in the campaign gallery.
Looking forward to some brand new plastic on display!

I'm in, but haven't picked a kit yet as I am waiting on some slated for this year to see my options.

Thanks Michael to fire up this campaign! I've just enlisted and would most likely go for the new Airfix Night Defiant which I've got last month. No photo of the kit yet, as I'm at work right now.
Happy modelling in 2018!

Michael-Nice choice! The LHS keeps trying to talk me into buying one. I'll watch your build with interest.
Alan-Keep us updated on your build, I will definitely buy the kit if all goes well. I love those Tamiya 1/48 armor kits.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

I have 2x PZL 23 Karas from IBG in stash and awaiting the new release of PZL37 Los, it's cold outside, so I'm definitely in for HOTM2018

I've got the turret on my Tamiya 1/48 M1A2. Went together nicely. Word of cation. The railings on the side baskets are really fragile. broke a couple while sanding them.
I don't think the smoke launchers are attached correctly. I think they should be facing more forward. Might do some research on them and see if I can fix them.
Hope you enjoy.

Great to see work is already started!
Goof, cool choice. I Am Looking forward to see what you from that one. Definitely a kit I never expected to see in plastic. Modelers are spoiled these days

Whoops. I've been working away on the Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1D but noticed I haven't actually posted anything. So here goes:
Slight deviation from the painting instructions. Everywhere I look it says that above the side consoles, the -1D cockpit was black. So:
Cockpit ready to install:
One of my least favorite parts. But with that big radial, I feel like I have to TRY to wire it:

Really nice details, Michael. Will the engine covers and cockpit be open on the finished model to show of the details?

I have finally decided what to make for this campaign. The fantasy flight games AT-ST from Star Wars Legion.
The kit comes with some parts preassembled. The quality looks good so far. More to follow as I get started.

Looks great, Franck! Well done!
This will be my campaign build.
Hawker Sea Fury FB 11 in 1/48 from Airfix. It was released last year. Will build the version shown on the box from the Korean War. I will start this build when my PZL 37 for the Bombers 2 Campaign is close to the finish line. But that will still take a while ....

Hey folks!
Thinking of entering this campaign.
Weird question though - I'm an armor builder, and I found this campaign thru the armorama campaign page... I just noticed that the thread for this is being hosted in the sister Aeroscale website. There won't be any problem if I enter with Tamiya's M3 stuart late, right?

Nigel,
No problem, it's hosted here because it was my idea and I'm the Admin here, but it's open to all kinds of kits that fit the "new" rule.
