I wouldn't use blue, green or purple for the background but rather gold, silver and bronze colors.
But of course!
How about this?
Thanks for the idea!
Ps. How did it go in Metz? Any luck finding a model?

Hi Björn!
I saw the Classic Airframes 1/48 Wyvern kit but it was too expensive for me (more than 60 € !
). I just bought Eduard's 1/48 Master Class Fokker DVII limited box and my wallet needs a little pause! :-) I think I'll build the 1/32 Hasegawa P-51D I have in my stash instead...

Hi Jean-Luc
Dohh! I think you're just determined to make me join in - because there HAS to be a Wyvern in a Suez campaign! :-) I was just looking at my Classic Airframes kit - and the
Goffy detail set. I'll only ever build one Wyvern, so I'd better go the whole hog and fold the wings etc.
Ohh dear... I suppose I'd better go and register...
All the best
Rowan

True - I walked into it eyes wide open.
I just realised, this could be the most modern subject I've built - only 50 years old...
The Wyvern is a real brute of an aircraft! I'm looking forward to this.

Hi Jean-Luc,
I've got both the 72nd and the 48th Wyverns. I'll build Trumpeters 72nd Wyvern, but considering that I purchased the 48th Classic Airframes Wyvern for practically nothing, and do not have the intent on building both of these,.... maybe it could go to a good home, where it could recieve some TLC and some MEK! :-) What do you say Jean-Luc, the wings are already glued together, but if you don't say anything to PolarBear,.... neither will I !!..... so,.. are you in the mood to build a Wyvern S.4.?!?

Hi Frank!
Sorry but I didn't understand the TLC and MEK thing! Remember I'm French!
Do you offer me to buy your Wyvern kit? Well, if you don't have the intention to build it anyway, I would be happy to give that model a French home!

Frank! You are
not good at lying! :-)
Great to see such interest in the Vywern! I agree with Rowan - at least one S.4 HAS to enter!
Cheers!
Ps. Frank - I have not yet received any approval on my idea to have ribbons of different values, but I've written GunTruck and asked if it was ok. - Judging by your interest, I figured that you are planing multiple entries. Any further thoughts on that?

Sorry Jean-Luc,
TLC stands for Tender, Loving, Care.... and MEK stands the main ingredient for most solvent glues we use, Methel Ethel Keytone. As far as the 48th scale Classic Airframe Wyvern, if you're interested, it's yours, just PM me an address, and I'll package it in the next few days.

Hi Frank!
Wow! That's very kind of you!
I hope I can do the kit justice!
I'll PM you my adress and ask you to give me yours... so that I have a chance to give you something in return!

Hi Jean-Luc
If you're going to build the Wyvern, I'll drop my plans and try to think of something else - with so few participants, it'd be silly to have two identical entries. :-)

While we are being generous - I have some 1/48 decals for
Israeli Mosquitos (FB Mk VI and TR Mk 33, including suez stripes) that I'm not going to use myself. Both silver and camo! Send me a message if your interested!!!
For those that haven't decided yet, here is a highly preliminary listing of what some participants have indicated so far (the list is subject to constant changes, though!) :-)
Cheers!

Hi PolarBear
I'm looking at an alternative entry if Jean-Luc goes for his Wyvern - I'll try to straighten out the banana-fuselaged
Classic Airframes Sea Hawk.
All the best

That's ok, provided that Jean-Luc accepts to take up your challange (to build it with folded wings, that is - PolarBear likes folded wings)!
Good luck with the banana! If brute force does not work, try scaring it straight! :-)

Thanks for the offer Jean-Luc, but there is no need to reciprocate,.... I need all the help I can get to thin my herd down!
As far as my entries, My first entry will be the French F4U7, from Hasegawa. I have some great Cartograph decals that need to be used. My second entry, (if I feel like being challenged, will be the 72nd Wyvern from Trumpeter, and if I really feel like punishing myself, I'll tackle the Classic Airframes Hawker Sea Hawk in 48th.

Hi all!
Rowan, sorry but just couldn't refuse Frank's generous offer! But you can still build yours so we could fly together on mission with him...

Hi Jean-Luc
There's only one set of Suez markings in the kit. But it's not just a question of decals - my whole aim is to try to maximize the variety of the types shown in the build. I see Frank's now talking about a Sea Hawk too - so I reckon my guardian angel's doing her best to get me off the hook as regards Suez. :-) :-)
All the best

Don't worry, Merlin!
We'll find something for you! Right now, we are a little bit short on Egyptian and French subjects. There is a nice F-84F from FM in 1/48! And it would be a shame to have a Suez Campaign without a Mig, don't you think?!
I don't think that we are going to be completely without duplicates. GunTruck, for instance, has indicated that he might want to build a Wyvern, too! I can't say no to that!
Personally, I ordered my Classic Airframes Egyptian Vampire yesterday!!! :-)

Great! I was hoping that there would be a Mosquito entry! Are we talking 1/72 or 1/48!?
