Hi there Peter,

I have a 1/48 Tamiya "Skyraider" on my bench at the moment. I am going to try and finish her in the "Sandy" scheme and load-out. Then I am probably going to try my hand at an Fw-190, still wary about applying the camo that needs to go on these German birds. My skills with my airbrush are not that great so trying to get the mottle on should be a definte challenge.
Please post some pic's of your 190 so that I have something to aspire to with mine.
It was great taking part in our "duel".

Cheers Ted

Hi there

Here's a look at the Bf 109G before it goes onto the backburner:

The cockpit is a mixture of True Details resin and Eduard etched parts. Unfortunately, I was in such a hurry to make up for lost time on this build, I didn't think to take any pics of the sidewalls before I joined the fuselage halves!

Anyway - as I say, the Gustav will get sidelined for something which I hope will arrive on Monday or Tuesday... all being well, I'll have something rather exciting to post one night when I get home from work.

All the best

Hello Rowan,

Looks like a great start, from what I can see the cockpit looks great, the belts look absolutely fantastic. Hope to see more!

Cheers Ted

As I say, the cockpit's a bit of a hybrid - the instrument panel and rudder pedals are Eduard's lovely pre-painted etched items, but the bulk of the office is True Details' excellent resin set. The seat features a really nice moulded-on harness.

All the best

hi all! i've just read through this thread from start to finish, and i have to say there are some awesome models in it! especially the b-17, thats a real centre piece for your collection ted.
one more thing, rowan-you can't just talk about a mystery kit then leave us in suspense! give us some more hints mate. (i think it could be a bf110 nightfighter thrown into the day battles)

Patience Phil! :-)

I hope to reveal all (Ooo-err Madam!) tomorrow night! For now, all I'll say is that it's a new kit of a single-seater...

All the best

Hi there Phil,
Thanks for the kind words about my "Fort". It really is the centerpiece on my wall right now...............especially due to it's sheer size.

I have to agree with you Peters 109 came out looking absolutely fantastic.

I can't wait to see what Merlin has in store for us.

Hi there Rowan,

"Tomorrow" has come and gone,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a few days ago and still nothing form you about revealing your secret mytery plane?

We are still waiting for the unveiling.

My gunners are getting itchy trigger fingers.

But they need to know what to look for.

Hopefully you will give us something soon.

Hi Ted

I ruined his surprise and thus Rowan forgot about it (I guess)

It was Eduards new Fw 190 A-8 ...

cheers

Hi Ted

Yes, sorry - thanks to the length of time international postal deliveries take - Eduard wrong-footed me (the whole modelling world, I think :-)) by releasing the finished kit before their own test-shot arrived! :-)

I will indeed be building the new Fw 190A-8:

I've done a quick test-fit and tinkered with a few sub-assemblies, but I'll be getting properly stuck in this weekend. I'll post some pics here as well as in a new thread.

All the best

That looks like a great kit. I also will be waiting for your review. It will be nice to see it completed.
Also something else in the sky for my gunners to put nice little holes into, I hope you add a nice big stain coming from the engine, after we get through with you.
Please post some progress pic's.

Ted
