PS. I remember reading about the Blackburn Airedale in a book by ex-Westland test pilot Harald Penrose 'British Aviation; The adventuring years 1920-1929.' (Putnams 1973).
PPS It's a quarter to five in the morning - I'm off! Be back in several hours to see if anyone has the answer....
