Hi Jeff
You're right that it's British. This 2-seat fighter dates right back to 1915.

Hi again
It doesn't look like anyone's going to post the answer, so I'll put you out of your misery - the mystery a/c was the Vickers F.B. 8 two-seat fighter of 1915.
OK, try this one - it's a bit better known:
I'll be away until mid next week, so I'll leave the answer with Chuck.

Supermarine Type 224 "Spitfire"!

Quoted Text
--John "Dinger" Dell, Dingers Aviation PageBuilt to Air Ministry Spec F7/30, this was the first aircraft to carry the name Spitfire. A gull winged monoplane with a fixed landing gear in "trouser" fairings, it was powered by a Rolls Royce Goshawk engine of some 600 horsepower and carried 4 machine guns. The Air Ministry contract went to the Gladiator from the Gloster Aircraft Company (The RAF's last biplane fighter). Supermarine's designer decided to develop a much more advanced design.

When you are right, you're right "The answer is the Supermarine F.7/30 Spitfire - the original a/c that bore the name. "

Caproni CA-60. It flew once, a short straight-ahead flight, upon landing it was damaged and thankfully abandoned.

Right! Your turn!
This plane is one of the few I sincerely hope never will appear as a kit subject. Just imagine the rigging... if you would outsource the rigging works you could give half a year employment to a whole village somewhere in the Third World... crazy.
So, let's see the new question.
