@SGTJKJ - what are the dates for the campaign. I've seen about 3 that I want to join and need to pace myself?
If I'm in, which I probably will be, I'll build either the the Hasegawa 1/72 F-4E (early) with aftermarket decals for "Chico the Gunfighter", or maybe an A-37B Dragonfly (or both if I have time and allowed 2 entries)
I have some photos in my KitMaker directory of my 1/72 F-4E in Euro 1 (Show ya Teeth campaign entry) done with Blue-Tac and masking tape. Take a look if you want to see the effect.
Cheers

The campaign has already started, so everybody can just go ahead and start building I am planning on expanding the deadline to 31st July because of the startup problems with the site.
You are welcome to enter more than one aircraft. I am considering several myself, but at least a F-4 Phantom II.
I am going crazy with campaigns myself and have entered quite a few. However, I am confident I will make it. Already half way for a campaign on Amorama
Thanks for the link to the blue tac tape masking

Hi All
Is it considered bad form to enter one model in more than one campaign. I intend building a HU-1C Gunship for the helicopter campaign, and this would fit nicely in a vietnam campaign as well. If it's out of order i'll build the huey for this and the Apache i have for the helo's.

Yeah, you can only enter one model into one campaign. If campaigns overlap you have to decide which campaign to participate in. Or - as you are planning - build different models for both campaigns.
Funny you are the first one with an UH-1 entry. I expected many more. Welcome on board

You can bet your boots its open to anyone. I only joined the site in september and I dived straight in to the 'Duel' campaign - it really gives you the motivation to actually finish a kit for once :-) :-) :-)

Welcome on board! If you do your MiG 17 remember it must be in North Vietnamese colours and markings to qualify.

Cool thanks, I just found a decal set for 1/48 Mig17F in Vietnam so I should be ok with that I think.
I might well get it confirmed for sure though.
Thanks

Ah, you got them OK then - good.
We dont have any migs at all !!!
In fact we are starting to run down our stock of kits in preference for increasing our ranges of after market items. We cant compete pricewise with the far east market as far as kits go so we will add ranges such as Black Box, Verlinden figures etc.
For sure Black Box will be the next range we stock but not for another couple of months.
Of course, I can always order things in for you
I dont think too many people have mentioned Migs so you could be on your own....
Regards,
Lee

Hi everybody
Here is the list of participants so far. Sorry for the low tech list. I have not figured out how to make a proper table in a post. The North is still outnumbered, but might get reinforcements if Phantom II decides to go for one of his MIG kits.
betheyn, F-100
Lucky13, 1/48 Hasegawa F-8J
Dirk-Danger, 1:32 Trumpeter A-7D
SGTJKJ, 1/48 Italeri F-4 Phantom II
Phantom2, Undecided
Tomcat 31, 1/48 Tamiya A-1 Skyraider or Revell A-37 Dragonfly
JollyRoger, AT-28 Trojan
Camogirl, 1/72 Hasegawa Mig 17
wizard179, 1/72 Hasegawa F-4E and/or an A-37B Dragonfly
Bigskip, UH-1C Gunship
_H_Dori, Mig 17
Thanks for the support so far

Yeah, then you are on the safe side. No problem about it, you do not need to confirm it anymore than that. Lets us trust the aftermarket producers, even though that can be dangerous for time to time
However, if you feel like adding some info and history about your aircraft it would be cool

Well, I was really hoping to build the Classic Airframes RF-5A Freedom Fighter with South Vietnam markings. However, my LHS said they can't order one.
Anyone have any ideas how I can get my hands on one of these kits here in the U.S.?

Hi all!
I believe that Sam and Howard needs some reinforcements so I´ll join the North Viatnamese side, and flying cover for You!
As both will build Mig-17´s (my first choice too!), I´ll go for a Mig-19!
I´ll use Trumpeter´s 1/32 kit;
I have a set of decals for the MiG-17 that include a North Vietnamese ac, so I can rob the national insignias from that and I´ll cobble together a correct number from my spares box.
Probably a NMF machine with insignias and a red nose number, there were not much variations on these aircrafts (from what I know).
Let the Campaign Roll On!
Cheers!

Excellent Stefan, we're certainly going to need that cover. Slightly outnumbered :-)
I think I've finally found my kit, after lots of searching, time & help. Thanks to Lee from Military-Precision
Just hope it arrives quickly so I can start taking pot shots at those American planes!!

I would try mail order. There are plenty of links at this site. A lot of people have recommended Luckymodel.com. However, I have not tried them myself yet.
@Stefan: Jette bra The North could use some support.

Great. Welcome on board. Did you use luckymodel.com or did you find something closer to home?
Good choice, Lampie. You can mark the targets and I can swoop down in my F-4 Phantom II and lay down my full load of angry iron Just stay out of the way of the MIGs. They might pick you out of the sky quickly

@Lampie
I can't wait to see your progress reports on the birddog. I have one of these in my stash as well, to be part of my FAC/COIN in Vietnam collection. The kit/s I make for this campaign will be my first on that long road....
Cheers

@Lampie and Wizard179:
Here are some pretty cool inspiration for your bird dogs. There are both some air force and Marines colour schemes. Also some nice background stuff at this site: Bird dog Vietnam stories and pics

I thought it would be an unusual contribution to the campaign.
it'll be a while before i get to start building it because of work/moving house comitments but hopefully i wll make a start on it around the end of Feb

Now i'm torn I've just been digging through my stash looking for my Dragonfly and come across Testors 1/48 OA-2 Skymaster in a very old looking box. So now I can't decide which to do the Skymaster of the Dragonfly
