Some time ago we have published a news report with the announcement of the new Bf 109E kit in the 1:48 scale in the Eduard offer. As the company have published new pictures and information of the kit we can provide you a big update of kit status and details.
Full title: Bf 109E-1 PROFIPACK

Item no.: 8261
Scale: 1/48th

Information published in the January issue of the infoEduard:
„This kit is scaled-down 1/32nd scale Bf 109E, with some improvements. The quarter scale Bf 109E kit brings exceptionally high level of detail combined with superb fit. It is something rarely seen in the word of kit production. Each new Eduard kit shows an improvement over the preceding kits, and this Emil is surely on the top of our current production standard. The instruction sheet is also consistent with the Eduard standard with full color painting and marking guide, contains five marking options, identical to the older 32nd scale kit. The decal sheet represents the well-proven combination of Eduard design and Cartograf printing. The color PE detail set and the canopy mask are mandatory for each Profipack boxing, of course, and so are there as well. And yes, this kit comes with the corrected canopy and slats!
The E-1 is the starting point for the complete Emil family, the E-4 will follow in June, and the E-3 in August. We are also planning a return to the ROYAL CLASS boxing thanks to this Bf 109E. The Royal Class is expected in April, with two kits included, a huge colorful decal sheet and other valuable bonuses.”

In the same issue we can find an information that in June we will see the E-4 variant, also in the profipack standard (catalogue no. 8263).

Hi Michal Thanks for the News. Yep - it looks a real beauty! And I particularly like the fact they've gone for the relatively seldom-kitted 'E-1 as the first release. All the best Rowan

The kit looks good but and should be a straighforward build but to be honest I'm a bit sceptic. Eduard have simply scaled down their 1/32 kit without even trying to reduce the "fatal flaws". We'll know definitely when the kit will be available on the market. On the pictures it still looks like a Bf 109E.

Hi Steffen, maybe you should ask who is going to ask them inconvenient questions at Nuremberg?

What do you want me to ask them?

Michal, I must dissagree with you on this. Did you consult the Eduard Blog on the Bf-109E? Sulc says: The only thing I am not sure is whether this refers only to assembly issues, but I really think they had it corrected. The one thing is sure: I will be having many of these birds!! All the best, Entoni

Hi Entoni, to be honest I didn't - the blog was updated 8 hours AFTER I posted my comment here. In the infoEduard I found the company said only that it is scaled down so I assumed they didn't change anything else. If Vladimir Sulc says it's improved in comparison to 32 scale brother I have no reason not to believe him. Let's wait for the kit and first reviews based on the sprues insted of pictures published in the net.

@Michal: I fully agree with you. I will certainly buy several of the Emils for my intended builds and reviews. However, I still deem the Eduard's Emil to be high on every list of to-buy priorities.
