Andrew

Aardbeg?? not Islays' finest, have a shot or two of the thirty year old Laphroiag, then try explaining to your taste buds what just happened.

Prefer to chase with Fullers Golden Pride my self, or for a more North of the Border touch try Innis and Gunns oak cask finished ale - it's quite spectacular.

No, sorry , too peaty for me. But the beer can be any half decent pint, Masham Black Sheep, Theakstons Old Peculiar, Speckled Hen if trapped in the South. Recommend that Stephen has a selection to suit our palates on this side of the ditch. I hope he has a supply of Goose fat so we can roast potatoes and parsnips for the Christmas dinner

Terri

That sounds like a potent brew, best hide it from Jan - he seems to be conspicuous by his absence - you did unchain him didn't you?

Ok. This sounds serious. Presents and high octane fuel. My granny always said "business before pleasure" but which of the above is which is not easy to decide in this case. It sounds like good fuel for shovelling snow though.

well, if not, you wanna buy one from a Texan? they come pretty cheap around these parts!

We actually got our once in every 5 or 8 years dusting of snow two nights ago, which is quite odd for so early in the "winter"

I'm in Austin (the liberal oasis), which is about a 5 hour drive from Corpus Christi.

I grew up Texas, but it never ceases to crack me up that this state has a city named "body of Christ" in Latin... very odd.

Hmmm. Buy a snowblower from a Texan? Yeah, that would do the trick. Now, what engine was there in the T-6 anyway....

Or did you mean a texan on two legs, Vance?

Still snowing here. Five inches now, four more to come. Sled-race anybody . . . .?

Place names round here are pretty wierd, we have "No Place", "Marley Pots" and "Witherwack" within a ten mile radius. I used to build ships and researched Canadian Corvettes which were named after towns and some of those are as picturesque as any I have heard.

I'm not sure, but I get the feeling he's on my tail. Can he still be mad about the Smirnoff-incident?

Better make a new brew of glögg. Maybe Jerry-can size this time...

In Stephen's absence I have persuaded the local chippy to deliver fish n chips with optional mushy peas. This delicacy is cod or haddock, deep fried in batter with a large portion of chunky, thick cut chips (french fries) and processed peas mashed up. The whole washed down with strong tea, milk and sugar to taste or, my personal choice, a bottle of Spitfire Ale.

Fish 'n chips sounds ok, since the peas are optional. However I would like to emphasize the fact that it MUST be delivered in a local newspaper , preferrably not older than yesterday. On my recent trips to the isles I've seen horrible examples of pre printed newspaper-lookalike wrappings .

Please Andrew, make sure it's the good old wrap. (And a Spitfire it is. Two pints and yer legless.)

Andy , you can have any thing you want . It's Christmas ! With Stephen not being around here for the holiday we have the run of the place . No cooking will be done today so it will take out ! Now I'm thinking pizza here with hot wings and garlic bread with extra butter !
For drinks , anything you want ! Just stay out off the cellar !

For the first movie tonight will be It's a wonderful Life !
