hi sgtjkj
Those clips certainly bring it back to me, i remember watching as much news coverage at the time even though much of it was a couple of days behind, no live coverage in those days.
25 years ,seems like yesterday , years are flying by, i must be getting old.
csch
I have got this one on order, always liked the look of this plane. Heres a link to a review of the kit, seems there a couple of faults but basically accurate

Hi Roberto, from what I can gather, the Fonderie Miniatures 1/48 Mirage IIIE is the best available in this scale. You can read a review about it
here.
Hope this helps some.

It does seem to be a tough one to find anywhere. I have been trying to track it down myself, without any luck. However, the Italeri 1/48 kit is plentiful in the U.S., so I might get that one instead. The lower cost is more of a match for my meagher modeling skills anyway.

Hi
If anyone is interested in doing a 1/48 skyhawk there are 2 hasegawa A-4B/C Falkland skyhawk kits on ebay.co.uk at the moment. nothing to do with me just passing on the info.
Theres also some good looking books on Argentine ebay but i cant make out if the seller will ship to the UK my Spanish isnt good enough and doing a google translation doesnt help.

All of the 24 Pucara planes on Malvinas(Falklands) were lost, only 4 due to Sea Harrier or the british 's antiair fire.
All the others by other reasons.
Here some photos from the Pucara
For you Carlos that are going to make it!!!!!

Hi
Got back from holiday yesterday and picked up my mail today including some books , decals and kits all relevant to this campaign. Here are some photos of various books and kits that i will be building.
The first kit is the High planes Dagger, its a multi media limited run kit so is going to need some tidying up, hopefully the flash will clean up and whats left will go together well.
Included in the kit are various versions of the basic mirage frame with different noses. The cockpit is resin along with air intakes exhaust and front wheel well and wheels. Two vacform canopies are included and white metal undercarriage legs.
Next up is the 1/72 Supermodels MB339, looks good on first inspection, has Armada decals aswell, unfortunately it doesnt come with the underwing 30mm cannon pods so unless someone knows of a set available looks like these will need to be scratch built.
Lastly a couple of 1/72nd Fujimi Skyhawks B and C versions
I wont be going overboard on the detailing just basically out of the box so hopefully i will be able to get these as well as a few others done including a sea harrier.
Is it allowable to start tidying up parts without sticking together just want to get started noe iam in the mood.
cheers

Hello Peter (Somtec),
Holly Cow! you are really getting into this! I am honored to have your participation. I do not mind if you want to start dry fitting but I see you have an Iranian Tomcat to build and I humbly suggest you not overextend yourself and concentrate on the Tomcat since that build ends on the 31 of August. Remember "The Falklands War" build ends January 31st, 2008. Even I have an F-104 that needs to be finished by Saturday for the Vietnam build.
Oh, another list update a 1/72 MB339A by Supermodel, by the way looking at the parts sprues are you sure the gun pods are not included? Two of those looked kinda suspect to me but I far from any expert on the subject.
Sincerely,
Brian

Hi Peter,
You are really building a stash here to start a fleet attack by yourself
It looks very cool and I am looking forward to follow all your builds! I have the "Argentine Air Forces" book as well. It is quite good and with lots of good pictures for inspiration.
See you in the air, where my Sea Harrier will be hunting

Hi All!
As my first option, I have decided to build a Airfix 1/48 Sea Harrier, that have the correct markings in the box (OOO/XZ455).
But when I was rummaging trough my stash I also found a Italeri 1/48(Esci repop?) Mirage IIIE.
As I love the Mirage, I would like to build it as an Argentinian IIIEA, painted exactly as the Mirage IIIEA I-005 (top pic) in Carlos post above.
Does anyone know where I can get decals and a painting instruction for this aircraft (or any Mirage IIIEA), in the correct timeframe?
Cheers!
