I am now finished with the Albatros. Only a couple of very minor changes. I replaced the rigging in the landing gear with steel wire. Makes this structure much more steady! I also added the Axial Logo to the prop and painted the tail skid. In conclusion this has been an interesting and challenging build. A couple of notes from the build are to watch the engine support structure. This is a tricky build and MUST liine up correctly to insure good fit inside of the fuselage. Also there is the wing assembly. I still think that out of the box the wing gap is off by at least a couple of MM. As for the scheme, I chose to model the Richthofen bird as it appeared on the day it was photographed with MvR in the cockpit and the other Jasta 11 pilots posed around the bird on the ground. Not everyone will agree with my choice for the shade of red. I chose as I did based on comments made by LvR and other Jasta 11 pilots. "Brilliant" and "Glaring" being the quotes that stuck with me. Finally the last pictures. I had grand plans to shoot a couple of dozen and choose the best of the best. After about 6 pictures the camera battery died driving home the need to put this build behind me!

By the way, I forgot something really important! No it wasn't the windscreen, although I did have to add that after the photos I totally forgot to thank Aeroscale, Stephen, and Roden for the opportunity to participate in the group build!! So a very big thanks to all involved!

Th rigging everywhere but the landing gear was 4lb. test Trout fishing monofilament. The gear as stated in my last post was changed to Steel wire,(actually the wire included in the old DML 1/48th kits.) I originally had used sprue for the landing gear bracing but the gear wobbled and broke the white glue join. The steel wire has fixed the problem of wobble!
