Working on the guns is always a tight story on these Rodens, but still with some patience and some luck it will fit .

there´s no glue used yet, still lining them up and having some parts to add to the guns before the glue will be used

Hi
This morning I’ve got a PM about one comment on my build. The forward area off the cockpit cowling behind the guns should off course have been wood, and not slate grey as I (stupid) done it. Simply I could never read the instruction careful enough.
So What´s to do about it. NOTHING on this model.
Trying to get the same brown mix from oil colours is not possible, then trying to get the same red toned varnish to go on top is not possible either, Surely I will ending up with other shade and tone’s off wood. This will be eye-catching to say the least. And I don’t want that effect on this machine so I’ll just have an extra beer tonight.

I just finished all the decals on this one, and must say that I’m surprised off the superb quality off the decals. Usually Rodens decal is hard and stiff, but these one went on just like decals would do. The decals were soft and easy to apply and they also just etched into the plastic. I just hope that Roden have sorted out the decal issue

Looking Fantastic Lars ! Glad to see you back on this build . As for the error on the panel , it was a field modification on reducing weight !

Cheers

It’s been a busy day in the workshop with the new airbrush Santa left me. Nothing fancy, just a new one, and the same badger copy I already had. But this one has not yet fallen to the floor, so it does the work in the way supposed.
Adding colours to every project I’m banned from the work area for this evening do to all fumes. Last thing I did was to get the camera and got some pics before closing time.
So the Albie got some filters, Tones and it’s personality by some coats off mixed black and brown. Tomorrow when all is dry the work to add all small loops for riggings will be started, thereafter the topwing will be added, and the rigging can be started. So I’m guessing this is the homestretch. Just hoping to NOT drop the model as happened to several friends.

Hey there Lars - looking great, glad to see that, like me, you are a convert to the application of both pre and post shading

That post shading really does bring the rib pre-shading out nicely.

Post shading, thank´s to you, you started it Brad. I´m just that student

Thank´s Terri. I know now you like the wood, and I liked that blueeyed tiger in your thread.

The upperwing is in place and I´m rig the bird these days, so the Albie will be finished in time I hope. Pics will be in place here somtime during this week.
I´m struggling with several ideas about how to make a vignet for this one, sadly I must say that I´m coming up short on this. Do not have the parts I need to fix up a vignet around the Albie so I´ll have to get back on this later when the idea´s comes

Go Lars Go ! can't wait to see the pic's of the final assembly . For your Vinget , sharp blade , sheet plastic and a few beers from Steve's stash just might help . He's not drinking them right now do to his SE5a build . So I'm sure he won't mind at all . More then likely will have to return the empty cans !

LOL
Hi Terri
That´s the problem I think. had to much beer at new year.
Qouting Sinatra
"that´s life" or
"beatles when I´m 64"
just give me a day or two more so the Albie is finished and I come up with something

Here is the Aeroscale rendition!
I am submitting the following for the Aeroscale anthem. Needs a little work.

When I get older losing my hair,
several years from now!
Will you still be sending me a posted thread
Birthday greetings, or modeling dread...
If I´d been up till quarter to three
building one Fokker mooooore,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I´m sixty-four?

Yooooou´ll beeeee ooooolder toooo ooooo,
Aaaaand iiiif you saaaay the word,
I - could - build - for - you.
I could be handy, mending a fuselage
When your spars are gone.
You can paint a Camel by the fireplace
Sunday morning be an Aeroscale Ace,
Doing the wings, rigging the struts,
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I´m sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage,
near Hendon UK , if it´s not too dear.
We shall scrimp and saaaa aaaave
With a buil -ding board on your knee
drilling, cut and aze.
Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating points of view .
Indicate precisely what you mean to build
Yours sincerely, waiting for a thrill
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I´m sixty-four ? boom - boom....

Hi
The Albie is finished today so here are the pics. The build was very fun, sadly it took me just to ling time to finish. Some words about the plain wooden display, I have several idea’s about this build but no stuff to make it in time for the deadline so I will fix this another time. A lots off detail have been added to the kit to get more interesting on the shelf.

here side by side with the DIII

So with this Albie finished, I´m done in the GB for this time

Hope u like it
