Hi Stephen
Very tasty! You lucky so-and-so!
Come on though, you know you don't really want a WW2 aircraft... Ohh, tell you what - I'll look after it!
All the best

Hi Steffen
The AFV Club F-5 does look rather tasty! I think I might have to treat myself to one someday.

Hi Rowan
Well, it is a nice little kit. "Slide mould" fuseage and some other fine details. I hope I will get the decals soon (I ordered directly from Aztek).
Still I must say that I am not a big fan of this super modular approach (did I mention that I hate Hasegawas P-40s .... even if it is a really nice kit except of that) ... we'll see how this fits (I rather trust my own experience than other reviews in this respect)
all the best
Steffen
P.S. In the cover are a few covers of other kits that I am not sure how new they are:
AR48105 RF-5E
AFQ002 Mirage 2000-5 (egg plane like the new F-CK-1 AFQ001)
HF48003 F-86F Block 30
HF48002 F-86F Block 30 (ROC markings on the cover)
AF72001 Zero type 21 (Die Cast, finished model)
AF35S49 AH-1WNTS
AF35S13 S-70C

Hi Michal
Neat! I always say you can never have too many templates - particularly at the moment, seeing as I've managed to mislay all mine in the move from London! Those ones have some different shapes to the ones I've got (somewhere...) - definitely useful.

Today I recieve the ordered decal sheet for my F-5E but sadly yesterday arrived the new Fliegerrevue extra with a great article on the Ogaden War where the F-5E was quite successful in air combat .... so I have to build an Ethiopean Tiger II ... only need to find good decals ...

Hi Steffen
That is uncanny timing! Of course, you could always pretend you'd never spotted the article and go with the Mexican schemes that first interested you - although I'm sure AFV Club would recommend that you simply buy another F-5 so you can build both!

Hi Rowan
Well, I just looked for an interesting camo scheme and I liked the Mexican, but the Ethiopian is also very nice and I got some good response over at HS Jet age so I will definitely build the Ogaden war machine.
I can probably use the numbers from the new decal sheet and I try to get the Zotz roundels sheet (I found no regular Ethiopian F-5 decal set so far) though I think the roundel style is differnt to the pictures ... btw the model is already pretty advanced and I will build it closed up and straight to keep the sleek lines of the fighter.

Two more things I forgot to mention before:
Although I brought it myself to home: a trophy from the Bytom Contest - a distinction for my F.2B which was complete surprise for me
and another great book hunted on a flea market: memoirs of gen.Stanislaw Sosabowski, commander of the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade

Not a bad day today ,pub ,football(won 1.0 ) picked a KFC up on the way home to watch Tottenham on the telly and I find this haul waiting for me
The eduard sets are 2x 1/24 belts for my mossie,a set of belts for my VFS Jug,1/48 sets for P-47D,P-47N and Bf109g and I've just found (I forgot I ordered them!!)a set of Eagel Strike decals!!!
American Jabos(48031 frigid midgit, live bait and sleepy jean3)
The D (sleepy Jean 3)is for the Dressed To Kill campaign
The N is for the pin ups campaign
The 109 G is for the 109 campaign
The figures from the ICM 109 (which are stunning by the way ,on par with Tamiya) I will use as my entry for the "paint those troops" campaign over on Armorama then include them in my small dio for the 109 campaign.
Cheers chums

Two file sets which I found at a place called G.D. Liquidators . The first set is 12PC needle file 160mm , love the fact they have handles on them . The next set is a 10PC riffler file set which will be great for those hard to sand places . Got one hell of a deal on these at 4.50 each !

Hi all,
Wow, it was a busy Saturday for the Postmen/women...
I have received this lately...
The IAR.80 is an old LTD kit I have searched for years. Now I'm sure a manufacturer will have it on it's list soon. The big sheets are rivet decals. I was too curious so I've ordered a couple. The Bf110 is courtesy of Dragon and Rowan (Thanks a lot again!) and really is a great kit. For me it is the same level as Tamiya's new Spitfire... provided it is easy to build of course.

Nice hauls everyone!
Terri - I hardly dare admit that I built that Airfix Hannover when it first came out...
Jean-Luc - Those rivet decals look very interesting, and I'm glad you're so pleased with the Bf 110, but I bet you were really most excited to get the LTD Models IAR-80 at long last!
All the best

An exciting day for everyone!
Jean-Luc, the IAR.80 is one of those oddball planes I love (I'd really like to find a Curtiss-Wright CW-21 Demon in 1/48)! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Terri, your Siemens Schuckert D.III, Can't wait to see what you do with it. It was my favorite mount in the computer game Red Baron.
Torchy, Not to volunteer you, but might you shoot the sprues and contents of the P-47N? I built it as "Too Big, Too Heavy" a few years ago but can not find my photos for a review. I still have my notes. We don't have the Academy N in REVIEWS yet, and if I get the sprue shots, I'll do it. I am looking forward to all of your models!
Steffen, the F-5's lines are the epitome of the word "fighter" to me--I'll be watching your work regardless of which air force you build.
BTW, these arrived yesterday--thanks Jean-Luc!

Hi All
Nice haul Jean-Luc! I have that one in the stash too, but I will be waiting for the SAM Publ. book befor I start it
Fred: there will be not much progress shots as I basically already have the airframe together. No major problems but some clean up required (and maybe also some sanding). Got the camo schem today and someone over at HS wants to send me the Roundels from an old microscale sheet .. so only some paint missing (only got two of the FS numbers so far and maybe will have to completely change to Xtraclylics to avoid the cracking problem I had with Gunze on my Super Etendard.
Today I was in Zeiskam where a very nice model exhibition took place (Marc (Mark58) and Torsten (BlackWidow) were also there). Again there was the man who had Eduard at almost shameless prices. I got the Fokker E Dual Combo, the new I-16 t.17 and the Mirage 2000C for 70 Euro also bought two sets for the Bone for 20 and a base from Marc for another 20. Now I will have to starve for the rest of the month but at least I have some new models for the collection
