Look to me like a transmission tower collapsed onto a windmill and the whole lot fell onto a tractor !

Another of Pigsty's quickies, then. What aircraft once stayed airborne for five hours despite having none of its engines?

Is that without its engines totally, or just not operating? A space shuttle stays aloft for weeks without its engines operating...

How about the Shuttle piggybacked on a 747 for transport from the plant to California.

Hopefully a motorised glider would still have its engine attached ...

It's a proper aeroplane - meant to spend its life in the atmosphere. As for whether the engines were actually present, that would be telling!

1. The Russian version of the space shuttle transported by an AN forgot the number.

2. Guppy transporting another a/c.

I just thought of three more possibilities..

The F-84E Thunderjet or YRF-84F carried by the GRB-36F as a parasite fighter? or

The I-16s (and others) carried by the TB-3 again as parasite fighter.. or!!

The F9C Sparrowhawks carried by the US Navy airships Macon and Akron? or

or how about the XF-85 Goblin? or...

the Short Mayo Composite? Short Maia and Mercury?
