It might be easier to say which 2 engined bomber didn't get used as a gunnery trainer

Merlin, you got it. Over to you now.

Sorry Warren, but you did use a builder that started with a B.

Cheers Bob

Ahh, the dismal, unbeloved Botha! But I'd still like to see a 1:48 kit of it.

OK - time for something completely different. Any ideas what this beastie is?

Hi Bob

Good grief! I reckon it took me longer to scan the pic than for you to come up with the answer!

Back to you for the next one.

Would a clue be in order? Or is everyone busy with their builds?

I just read the reveiw on the 2011 Nurmburg show and saw many items that I can not live without.

Hi Bob

I keep thinking it looks like it must be a Rutan design - I just can find which one!

@ Rowan: it has benefitted from Rutans techniuqes, but the aircraft pictured is not his.

@ Michal: I first thouught of using the Gyroflug then I found this a/c photo.

CLUE: (2) seater, Its endurance and range in excess of 7 hours per their data.

Neil, nope that is not the a/c.

Clue: Stall: 35 kt | 40 mph | 65 kmh
Cruise: 149 kt | 171 mph | 276 kmh
VNE: 173 kt | 199 mph | 320 kmh
Empty Weight: 259 kg | 570 lbs
MTOW Weight: 599 kg | 1320 lbs
Climb Ratio: 1700 ft/min | 9 m/s
Glide Ratio: 18
Take-off distance (50ft obstacle): 500 ft | 152 m
Landing distance (50ft obstacle): 400 ft | 122 m

It also starts with a B Warren.

Is it a Bateleur? Rather dodgy history if it is.

Sean, you are correct. It is the Bateleur so over to another one of your mind busting efforts. What is its dodgy history?

Well, I cheated and looked up the registration on the Interweb. And I found this. Looks nasty.

Right then, what connects the following aircraft?

Anson
Beaufort
Botha
Halifax
Hudson
Lancaster
Liberator
Lincoln
Mosquito
Sunderland
Warwick
Wellington
Wildebeest

Beaufighter
Catalina
Lerwick
Neptune
Shackleton
Spitfire

Two hints:
1 the answer isn't that they've all served with the RAF;
2 the gap between the two lists is significant.

Not the answer I'm looking for - not specific enough. Remember, the gap between the two lists is significant. And I'll not be saying why.
