I think Ilyusjin made a transport a/c for rough terrain, with the engines high to protect them from dust and fod. That might have been used as an airliner too. I have my Swedish airforce recognition manual packed away though, so I can't check.

It looks like something Boulton & Paul. So my guess is Boulton & Paul's Skeleton in the Wardrobe of British Aircraft Industry.
