actually I do Lars ! I keep them very close in my pruse Thank-you Lars

Well keith I got my camera back today ! Nothing mayor just some tender loving care is all she needed ....................

So I have some progress pic's for you all ! I did forget to put on the national markings on the tail and had to regloss that area . So still have some weathering on the tail to do and light dusting of grey on a few egdes . The under side will be done very last and the trutle deck to make handling easier .

Other then that the build is going well .................................

That's all for now folks !!!!!!

Just a small note of correction. Rib tapes were one piece around the rib profile. I know that Terri is using what is available in the kit. Aside from that it is a fine build.

So, for my own clarification...the rib tape wraps all the way around the wing? How do we get the difference in upper and lower colors or was the tape, then, two colors for just that purpose of having to wrap all the way around?

Bob, the tape would be one colour, that's what Stephen was pointing out to Terri.

Blue, Salmon Pink, or actual loz fabric depending on manufacturere, availability or time.
that all makes something of a minefield itself for us mortal modellers without Stephen's extensive knowlwedge...

I dont know how he retains everything... Me, I'm more of a Homer J..... something goes in...something goes out...kinda guy...:-P *was talking about knowledge before someone thinks smut!*

Hi Chris , as Stephen has point out the tapes are one long piece that wrap around . The Eduard decals which I used do not inclued enough of the blue taping so I used what was in the box . funny though there is enough of the pink !
Blue tapping also goes aroung the leading and trailing edges of the wings ( upper and lower ) but I will not be adding this , not enough of the blue taping .
Fokker built aircraft used blue rib tapping , Albatros build Fokkers used pink rib taping and OAW built used blue rib taping . As confused as the next person when it comes to the tapping I do and still get mix up .................................

Fokker built aircraft used lozenge rib tapping,
Albatros (Johannistahl) built Fokkers used pink or lozenge rib taping
OAW (Schneidemuhl) built used lt. blue rib or lozenge taping.

By the way Ltn. A. Greven flew both an Schwerin and an OAW bird with this marking.

Well I had a small mis-hap while putting on the landing struts ............I drop it !!!

Broke off the top wing and rudder .

Learn't a few things though , do not attempt to work on models when ill .

They really don't fly !

The cat had more fun with falling parts !

Carpet moster got a black eye !

Always save lozenge scraps to do repair jobs ( which I did )

She will be up in running soon enough .................

Thanks Michal , the lozenge is from a Eduard kit and the rib tape is wrong .If I would have had enough of the blue tapping this would have been applied on the trailing and leading edges of the wings . I'm very pleased with the out come so far . Tried out some new methods on this build with most excellent results . The more I build of the WW1 aircraft the more I love them better

Definately coming on nicely Terri, I love the chosen scheme, I'm sure it will look good amongst your other kites on the shelf/case once finished.

On the subject of Lozenge I'm finding the Eduard lozenge *despite it's innaccuracies* easier to use than the Microsculpt, I'm having a few probs getting Ms's to work for me but persevering.

Excellent build Terri, it's a credit to you. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed model.
Can't wait to see you start on the 1/32 scale build.

Cheers.
