I had a look back through the last couple of years worth of campaigns and couldn't find this, so how about a group build of Twin Boom aircraft, any era, any nationality?
There's been a few over the years in civilian and military forms, and experimental as well.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Twin_boom_aircraft is a starting point with good food for thought.

Excellent idea Damian ! I have a P38 and a P61 in the stash which this would be perfect for .

Any idea to when the starting and ending dates will be ?

Great, a few takers straight up. I thought this campaign idea would generate some interest as it covers an unusual range of aircraft. Given the number of campaigns running now and ending later this year, and a few that are starting shortly (including 2 for me), I thought an early 2010 start and 6-8 month run time. Any thoughts?

As for which bird to build, I would love to do a military Cessna Skymaster

but I am not sure a kit of this even exists. Like most I have a P-38 (nightfighter) and P-61 in the stash, maybe I'll see if I can sneak a C-119 Boxcar into the house without the minister for war and finance seeing it.

Airfix used to make a 1/72 O-2 Skymaster.

Would the P/F-82 Twin Mustang or Heinkel 111Z count?

What scale? Did you manage to find 1:48 MPM 189 somewhere?

you could open up the options a bit by making it a "twin tail" campaign.... anything with two vertical stabilizers, which includes all the "2-booms" aircraft.

Hey Vance, yeah I had that thought, but then I figured that would be a bit too broad, would take in such critters as Bf-110, B-24, B-25, Halifax, Lancaster, F-14, F-15, FA-18, Various Sukhoi etc. I was aiming at something a bit more unique but hey, I'm only new here and very happy to go with the general concensus.

Cheers

Testors #514, 1/48 O-2A/B skymaster...decals included are for the USAF O-2a FAC or USN O-2a VFA-125 rough raiders.

generally speaking, you'll get more people interested in the campaign with a broader set of options to build from, but a large campaign that isn't necessarily the be-all-end-all point of a campaign.

I'd probably try to participate either way.

Ok Andrew, I'm going to need another glass of red to work this through. Our options are 4, 2 or 1 boom for the DH2. I am dubious about the 4 boom theory as there are vertical supports on the left and right but no horizontal strengtheners. It could be one oversize fuselage stripped naked to avoid the windsock effect (he says as the red takes effect). I am leaning towards twin boom merging to one vertical stabilizer, in which case its a go. In saying that, I'm willing to comprimise, I'll call it 2 and say go, you call it 4 and push the rules, in either case just build it.

I could definitely go for a twin boom campaign!

Stefan - If you do the Saab J21R, I could do the Saab J21A (or vice versa)!

Or else I would go for the Vampire...

Wow, thats 14 interested parties already with a great variety of aircraft proposed. Can I get some input regarding start/finish dates to suit the masses, and perhaps a campaign name.
I'll start the ball rolling with the obvious "BOOM BOOM - Twin Boom campaign", and my preferred start would be early 2010, unsure as to usual duration for such a build ??

BTW that SAAB is a mean looking unit, love it.

Boom Boom is great campaign name !

For campaign time, how about january 1st - december 31st 2009? Basicly whole year, or is that too long time?
